Thoroughly impressed with this restaurant! Its a small place but their food is outstanding! Parking…read morea probably the only issue, but if you come in the evening it is a bit easier to find. We ordered the Wagyu Beef Bowl, Bento Box with Chicken, and Aburi Salmon Carpaccio. The most incredible item was the Carpaccio. Without a doubt, one of the best starters I have ever eaten in my life! The flavors and seasoning was perfect. I'm a huge fan of Aburi so trust me when I say - you won't regret getting this dish! The rest of the food came out pretty fast too and was very good. The server was top notch too. The waitress often came by to refill our glasses and check up on us. Glad to have discovered this hidden gem.

My friend took me here the other day for some Japanese BBQ. I've never had Japanese BBQ before so I…read morewas excited to try! The BBQ option was about $40AUD per person. Honestly, this price is ridiculous. Most Korean BBQs are about $20-30 per person. Anyways, they have indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for indoor seating because it was around 8pm at night and was super windy! They gave us order sheets and we mark what we wanted and how much we wanted. Those order sheets were pretty nifty! You just mark down what you want and give it to any of the workers. TIP: If it's your first time here, order a small amount for each type of food that you want. This is so that you can try everything out and check out the proportion sizes. if you want more, just order more. They do charge you extra if have leftovers! My friend and I ordered: beef, pork belly, shrimp, ribs, corn, mushroom, salmon sashimi, salad, salmon sashimi salad, gyoza, takoyaki, edamame, kimchi, and ox tongue. The ox tongue was yummy! It was thinly sliced and flavoured very well. The corn and mushroom were cooked with butter; yumm! The salmon sashimi just melted in my mouth! The workers there were very friendly and helpful. It seems like they lack English, so it was a little difficult to communicate with them. What I found was a little annoying was when they greeted customers. It was cool they they greeted customers every time they came and left; however, they would yell at the top of their lungs. The place isn't very big so you could definitely hear it every time. I believe their store closes at 9pm, so at around 8:30pm, they close the kitchen. Make sure to get your orders in before 8:30pm.

Verdict: Choose another ramen joint…read more Was here on a uni holiday Wednesday at 8:20pm (it closes at 9pm, like most places on the coast) - there was no one here. For comparison, the Grill House and Kubo's Bar & Grill had multiple tables, and at least 10 ppl in the shop. Ordered the black garlic ramen (usually $12), enquired about extra noodles (called "kaedama") - $3 here. I was taken aback - places with the nerve to charge for kaedama charge less (Ramen Danbo $1, Muso $2), and most places offer it for free (Hakataya chains and Ramen Champion offer 1x, Gentotsu offers UNLIMITED) (on further research, $3 is on par with JFX Nexus). Apparently there's a large bowl option (+$2), so I chose that. The noodle and soup itself was fine, but there was only one slice of pork to boot even for the size upgrade (and the $6 sliced pork side option is also the most expensive of ramen joints). I can see ppl visiting this place if they needed a ramen fix, and this was the only place within walking distance - but JFX is 3min walk away, and they offer free miso soup. No wonder this place was empty. Note: - Cash only - No BYO drinks - There are no pickled vegetables offered for free

Really great value authentic Japanese "fast" food of don dishes with meat and rice or udon/ramen…read morenoodle dishes. Same great taste as the Sydney restaurant, but less queuing. Sukiyaki don is always my favourite with beef, miso soup on the side and I like to drink an iced cold green tea. Definitely recommend for students or anyone looking for a cheap meal as you can be well-fed for under $15. They often do lunch specials and bento box meals at a great price.
