I live in Washington heights and needed somewhere to get my nails done. So, I went to Danny nails. I had Lilly, who was super nice and patient with me as I told her how I wanted my nails. Lily did my nails exactly how I wanted it! I got my nails done on 12/9/2022. It's currently 1/9/2023 and I still have the same set on. No chips or lifts, my nails still look just as nice as when i first got them done. My nails have grown out a-lot, so I'll be going back soon. The only con was that the filing was a little rough but as soon as I said something, that was fixed. Anyway, the shop is a little older looking at first glance but the services I received was great! I will absolutely be going back. It's not often I get to keep nails on this long. I am rough too! Also, very fair prices. My full set was pretty cheap based on what I asked for. Danny COULD be a great nail tech he has the skill but the service is terrible , this COULD be a great nail shop but Danny doesn't actually want to do work and always makes me feel like I'm bothering him just to get a simple design or adjustment. I have never haggled over pay and I tip well but they seem to care more about quantity over quality especially with certain people. I recently returned for a broken nail that happened after the second day and was made to wait for more than an hour to have it fixed when any reasonable shop would just fit u in between customers. I also always feel like they're talking about you to each other in Vietnamese. IT's everything but relaxing and it's too bad because they COULD do much better. Lawd y'all, I found a new spot! So I had found this gem after a disappointing experience at another Nail salon and I really wanted my hands done. This place (for a Friday afternoon was surprisingly not crowded & fairly inexpensive. I was serviced by a lovely girl named Angel (You can call and make an appt if you want to, but you don't have to) and she was so sweet and did exactly what I wanted. I'm unsure if they take cards, but they do have an ATM inside. It is a little small inside, so not much room if you are someone who has bags/stuff with you. I believe they had 3-4 Pedicure seats (I didn't get a pedicure done here but will on the next visit) which weren't super spacious, but still not too bad. They even have a picture up of the nail shapes which I found really impressive and helpful. I would totally give them 4/5 stars only because due to COVID it could be a little cleaner/spaced out but what can we do. Wear your mask when you go if you're weary. There was also a gentleman at the front desk who wasn't as friendly but... it's NYC ain't no one really friendly anyhow. I'll def be back! read more

I went there to get my toes and nails done. I always do gel for my hands and regular polish for my toes. When she finish my toes I went to do my nails when they finish my toes were orange, and my nails were pink. I tried explaining that to her and pointing it out to Kathy, she stated that because one was jel one was polish that it looked like that, but that they didn't look pink and orange I know I'm not colorblind I've done this before and they always match!!! my little toe polish got messed up a little and the girl tried to polish it on top ... that made it worse ...they charge me $80 and I'm not happy with the work they did. I got my nails done on a Tuesday n there was no reason u couldn't fix my nails due to ur polish was old n my nails chipped badly n when I went to get them fixed u told me I had to wait when I was there first that's bad business for me so they will treat well in the beginning then they will start to treat u like ur nobody so this establishment is for the birds n the treatment sucks. read more

Ok so I went to this place because I didn't feel like going to my usual spot in Manhattan. And I was already in the area. Hard gel was ridiculously over priced. They didn't have the color that I wanted for powder dip and they didn't take cards. Which in 2022 it's very disappointing. My nails came out ok but I wasn't blown away with the service. My nails are in amazing shape after a whole month has gone by, no broken nails. I have been a customer of Danny Nails since the reopening of NYC. After a view visits, I left a glowing review of this establishment but removed it because over time, my experience had changed. Kathy became very indignant, as if she no longer wanted me as a customer. I tipped VERY well and have never been argumentative or problematic. On a couple of occasions when fully booked, Kathy referred me to her husband - Danny - who has a nasty attitude. Also, they are extremely disorganized with keeping so-called "appointments". In addition, they started to pay less attention to the cleanliness of their establishment which is an absolute dealbreaker for me. read more

I never complain nor have I ever taken the time to write a yelp review, however, I've been getting acrylic nails done for over 15 years and this is the worst experience I've ever had. The first time I went here I got a full new set replaced and they looked so good so I decided to go back for a fill before I left to travel. I got my nails done on a Thursday, the next day one broke so I was able to go back in and get it fixed. Then, I had three more nails break in the following five days. That's FOUR nails in a week. When I called to let them know this had happened they proceeded to hang up on me three different times. I'm out of town for the next few weeks so am not able to go back to get them fixed (not that I would want to), but that's unacceptable. Not only was that a waste of $40 and my time, but now I have to take the time and money to get them fixed at another salon. Unreal. read more

They do a really great job on nails, but they have no conception of time whatsoever. I've made several appointments that have been cancelled once I got all the way to the salon because they were over booked. One young lady was late to pick up her daughter because she made an appointment and when she arrived she was told the manicurist she made an appointment with was in China town and she had to see someone else. I made an appointment on Wednesday - it is now Friday at 2:30pm and I'm here waiting for an appointment that was scheduled for 1:30pm. This happens far too often and they absolutely need a better scheduling system for such a small salon. read more
