I often come here to buy items that I typically would not find in the general American type grocery…read morestores. Mostly I get the items from the West Indian and Caribbean aisles. Spices, canned items, pantry items along with a lot of other ingredients and different types of meat. One of the things that I especially like to get from here is the goat meat, which to me is the best deal that you'll find for this type of me in the area. It's generally sold per pound, and when you approach the counter, you just simply let them know how many pounds you would like, they bag it up weigh it and give you the price. They also have a fresh fish counter where you will find things that is not very common and most other grocery stores. The value here is great. The staff is friendly and the store is always well stocked, clean and organized.

"It feels like home" my mom. While leaving the Jamaican herbal store, we saw the grocery store next…read moredoor. So I suggested we stop in to see what they have and it was the best decision ever. They had everything my mom needed plus more. From the British aisle to everything Jamaican. We had a basket full of items and knew we had to purchase another bag to take home. It was so worth the trip and this will be our go to when we visit. The cashier said yall must not be from here because I see yall got everything. Definitely a great place and prices not bad at all. They also have a restaurant inside which was pretty packed as well

Stopped by on Father's Day Sunday looking for Grouper. I not only got the freshest looking grouper…read moreI've ever had but also an education as to why the owner Emanuel prefers the red grouper over all the others. This man knows his fish and I get the feeling he would be horrified if he ever sold something he wouldn't love himself! Emanuel was happy to cut a 2 pound fillet off a much larger fish and took great pains to remove every pin bone. It was literally a perfect piece of fish from a great little shop where everyone I saw was happy and smiling. Made me want to visit Haiti. I think that is where the owner and his friendly coworker Debbie are from. The store has some other items to round out a meal so it might be a one stop shop for dinner. We, of course, forgot a couple things so we stopped at The Fresh Market on our way home. Just to see the difference I checked out the fish counter. The store might look real snazzy but the fish didn't look nearly as good and was several dollars a pound more expensive. I also doubt the people serving it up have half the passion for their products. Emanuel told us he can get any type of fish we want to order overnight and even gave me his card with his cell phone number. We are new to the area but have already found the perfect fishmonger. Keep it up Emanuel. We will see you soon!

Went there and was highly disappointed. I have been there twice before to make char grilled…read moreoysters. This time was a completely different. The wife doesn't know anything and when I say anything I mean anything. I went there for my usual half shell oysters. She was explains the price and the last time I went the husband said shucking them is on him and this time I went it was 1.99 plus 10 to shuck (never an issue to pay that because I pay for what I like). I kept having to explain the I wanted it half shell and not completely unshucked. Some man came in and she took is complete order and left me waiting for another 10 mins. Once he was done she finally came back to me and continued shucking the oysters. After 5 mins my Aunt came to check on me because I have in there for a while. My aunt noticed how she was shucking the oysters AND SHE WAS COMPLETELY TAKING THE MEAT OUT OF THE SHELL. Like she took the meat out of the shell and threw both shells away. The husband has never once done that to me. I will never come back here when the wife is there if that is even his wife. She quite literally doesn't know her own product or even the different kind of ways to shuck oysters. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!

Looking for hard to find seafood or live seafood at reasonable prices? Seems this is the spot for…read moremost of it! Rolling up, it seems this is a market that caters more to commercial clientele, but they are open to the public too, which means you get access to all the goods. Walking in I noticed live seafood tanks that looked specific to fish, but couldn't see anything in them. I'm assuming you just had to ask. In the first case I saw nice looking shrimp and shellfish, and around the corner there were whole fish, including many of my favorites I don't often see for sale. Mutton snapper and hogfish, both around $8/Lb, lion fish at $5, and some lesser known species of grouper and smaller delicate fish as well. This selection is what makes me give them a higher rating. We were there late in the day, and the cases were mostly empty. I assume earlier in the day there's more! It's worth noting the whole fish still had guts in tact, so if you want to buy one you might ask them to clean it for you. We were on the hunt for stone crabs, and when we called they said they had them, but when we got there they were all in the freezer. Freezing shellfish definitely changes them, and not for the better. I can't imagine eating frozen stone crabs. In fact I've never heard of buying stone crabs frozen at all. So we didn't. I'd definitely go back for fish!

Surprisingly impressed. Very fresh, well-seasoned, but not salty, grilled salmon. With the first…read morebite, I could tell this was really fresh fish, not something that had been sitting in a display case for a few days. The portion was great for 9$. I actually split the hot lunch special with a family member-you know, trying to reduce portions. The steamed veggies were waterlogged, but at least they were a healthier side option to counterbalance the other side of white rice. Didn't take long for the friendly fishmonger to grill up my selection, he was even considerate enough to ask how well done did I prefer the salmon be cooked. The mild flavor of the flaky salmon definitely peaks my interest to return and sample more of the lunch specials. The cashier is all business, no smile. I don't understand why a person raises his or her voice, if you don't understand his/her accent. Just a cultural thing, I guess. I'll plan my next visit better, so that I can also buy some fresh uncooked seafood.
