I hired this company to replace my carpet in my bedrooms and vinyl floors in my living area. Right…read moreat a year or maybe a little past I had an issue with the carpet in my son's room. Also the transition strip was loose ( they installed the transition strip with liquid nails). I called for help with these problems and after about a month I was told the carpet manufacturer would cover the carpet but not the labor. Furthermore I was told that this is a small company and they "cannot afford to give away the house". They gave me the number to Falcon flooring to inquire about the labor. After speaking with Falcon, I found out that the labor was $144.00 and that Your life design was not interested in paying nor did they even ask for the price! Also, the carpet installers here at Your life design were not certified to install the carpet by the manufacturer!! Fortunately, Falcon is stepping up to pay for the labor for the carpet replacement and even offered to help me with the transition strips. As for your life design, I was told that they were going to look into the transition strip, but I have little confidence that anything will be done. So after all the preaching of quality and customer satisfaction, if there is a warranty issue be sure to read this contract cause they will not go beyond the contract to help and will have no problem with sending you a pic of the contract to illustrate this point cause apparently $144.00 will break the bank to help out a customer. Note that though you pay them, they are quick to say it's someone else's problem and stat that they made no money on my project. I will say that they are all very polite but have a long way to go when it comes to taking care of their customers if a problem arises later on. One last thing, after all this, they then asked about my next project! I'm sorry but I cannot do business with a company that is not willing to assist with the job once a problem occurs in such a short timeframe after install. Had I not had this problem that gave me this insight to this particular type of situation, I more likely would have rated them much higher out of ignorance. Please beware and I hope this helps someone else to avoid this issue or that it will open up this company's perspective to consider that sometimes you should assist customers outside of your contract cause it's the right thing to do...

I hired Tyler Bates to set up my mobile home when I had moved it from Lawrence KS to Lebanon MO…read more He started with a 4 man crew but then after the first week, was down to himself and 1 other man. He made the deck too high and didn't finish the skirting until late December and that needs to be secured in many places, there is a rain diverter on the roof now but he installed it wrong and doesn't work at all, many of the boards he used have been split by screws and will need to be replaced, and although I sent him pictures of what I wanted the roof and handicapped railings to look like he disregarded both and put things where he wanted. He took down the guttering and still hasn't put it back on and it has been laying in the yard and blown into the neighbor's yard on several occasions. I was informed that my electrical box needed to be up to code and he said he could save me thousands of dollars doing it himself so I agreed, only to have the walls damaged on both sides of the wall where the box is located and he just left it that way. The plumbing needed fixed all underneath the trailer due to age, having used substandard materials when the mobile home was built and then moving it 500+ miles. Again, he said he could save me thousands of dollars if he did the work himself so I agreed. He did shoddy work on the plumbing all throughout my home and will not come back to finish the job including the new faucet and garbage disposal I needed as he was unable to install the faucet I had chosen and took it back to Lowe's and bought a cheaper one then had to go back to get the garbage disposal but didn't replace the locking ring so they both leak. I'm experiencing a sagging floor in both the kitchen and master bath. Throughout his work here he said he would be here at a certain time but didn't show up until much later if at all. He cited child care reasons on several occasions. I asked him to save the wood that I had purchased that was over 6 inches long but he did not and I'm told it is all laying beside his shed. He left a hole in my skirting for 3 weeks before he came back to fix it when the weather had turned so cold in December and my uncle and cousin had to come by to put a tarp over it to keep the wind out. He said he needed to get paid before he would install the faucet and he needed to see the hole in the garbage disposal before he would replace it so I wrote a check for the last amount that he said I owed him but then hasn't come back to fix the many, many items he did not suitably fix the first time. I am 59 years old and must use a walker everywhere I go and had to live at the Holiday Inn Express for the entire time he worked on and off on my various projects when he was off working other jobs and I couldn't get inside my own home without a great deal of difficulty and could not get the utilities hooked up until he finished everything so it would pass inspection with the county. I strongly would not recommend anyone to use this company. He had to hire my 71 year old uncle to work for him to get as much done om my home as he did and my uncle told me he was sent to different addresses to work while Tyler Bates was supposed to be working on my home, that he and the rest of the men Mr. Bates had working for him would frequently sit around, sometimes for hours, before Mr. Bates would show up with the materials they needed and then wouldn't pay them for the work they had done and still hasn't paid. I wouldn't want to work for Mr. Bates either.
