First, let me say that Dr. Almeida is a competent doctor and performed my surgery 8/9 years ago…read more She is understanding and sympathetic-that's if I get to see her. I do not drive 1 1/2 hrs to see Lucy. The office staff has an employee that lies (at least one). I specifically requested to see Dr. Almeida. After probably 8 consecutive rescheduling year after year, I came to the understanding this would always happen. I agreed to see Lucy one time(last year) and frankly, she is not as gentle or expert as Dr. Almeida, plus I had questions for Dr. Almeida. So this time, after the usual call to reschedule, I specifically said I wanted to see Dr. Almeida. The "caller" said she could get me in to see Lucy and I said "no, I want Dr. Almeida", so we scheduled a month out. When they called to confirm, I asked "It's with Dr. Almeida, correct?" and she said "Yes". Well, it wasn't. So when they called to reschedule and I asked, I was told yes and when they called to confirm I asked and was told yes. Twice I was lied to! I am the patient, paying for these appts and a receptionist does not have the right to decide who I see. Also, the pain during my Pap was the worst I've ever had during a pap due to what, I don't know, other than aggressiveness. Unfortunately, this is not the first time an issue has arisen with this office. I don't receive calls about results of tests and calls are returned several days later. They also gave me a bill for 2024 that I never heard about, even when I was in the office in 2025! I could go on and on. Unfortunately, after several years, I will find a new doctor. Dr. Almeida is most likely not aware of the incomptetence of her office and there should be more oversight. I will also make sure Dr. Almeida is aware of her staff lying to patients. She just lost a patient! Sad!

Don't come to this office looking for bells and whistles, technology or quick visits - you'll…read morelikely wait a good while to be seen and yes, it seems to be that most their charting and scheduling is still conducted on paper. With that said, this doctor is a rare gem - someone who truly cares about his patients and really knows his stuff. The reason you wait so long - yes, inconvenient - is because he takes his time to actually evaluate you and answer any and all questions. He provided my father with a more thorough physical assessment than his own geriatrician during his yearly physical. They even use manual blood pressure cuffs to get accurate readings (in both arms) and the DOCTOR is the one taking the measurements! The office staff can come off as abrasive, and I don't make excuses for that, but they do eventually warm up to you after a few visits. If you're looking for a quality specialist who is humble, knowledgeable and approachable - so long as you have the ability to spend some time in the waiting room - Dr. Gaier will take great care of you or your loved one.

They were very clear with what they needed from me as far as insurance, referral papers ID, and what I needed to sign or due prior to coming. During my appointment I was greeted and checked in with no long wait. Place was also nice and clean Their Doctor, Charlene, was amazing - one of my favorite things about her was that she was very thorough with figuring out my situation so she can best assist me. She asked really good questions, listened well, and had a good energy about her. Same with the nurse practitioner, they both were 10/10. I've gone to this practice since 2010. All my providers there have been nothing but amazing. I…read morewrote a previous yelp review and gave the practice five stars. However, they have been under new management for a couple of months. All the previous providers have left the practice. I was never notified that my provider left the practice. In fact, photographs of my former provider and others are still on the webpage, so how was I to know they left? I never received a phone call or a letter in the mail. I found out about this recently when my insurance request requested a prior authorization. I went to their new website, and my provider wasn't listed. So I called to ask about this. The first time I called and the phone rang forever with no one picking up the phone. When I was finally able to get through, a young lady answered the phone. I told her about my situation with the prior authorization and she told me that my provider was no longer there. I was told that I had to come in and see a new provider and when I asked why , I was told have a nice day and then hung up on. I wasn't rude; I just had questions, like who my new provider is and why they need me to come in, since I just had an exam two months earlier. And I don't know why, but they called me back 10 minutes later and said they suddenly had an appointment for me the next morning. So I came in to see what was going on. My new provider was very young and I'm not sure how much experience they had. While they were nice, she informed me of the new policies. For example, they began charging for blood draws in the office that had previously been free. It was $35, and now it's down to $15; otherwise, I have to go to another location to have my blood drawn. They put an order for me to have my blood work drawn, even though I just had it drawn 6 to 8 weeks. I asked for a prior authorization which I was told they would do, but after two weeks, I went to my pharmacy and they said they never received one. The front desk used to be helpful, but recently when I went in, everybody was sitting around in a circle talking to each other, pretty much ignoring that I was there. This used to be a very warm, friendly practice that put the patient's needs first. Now, it seems this new management is very business-oriented, looking for ways to make more money at the expense of providing good customer service and focusing on my healthcare needs. I am now leaving this practice, which makes me sad. I feel very sorry for older people who go there. They probably don't know who their provider is anymore and will have to start over with a new provider from the beginning. It's hard to find a good medical practice for your routine healthcare these days, especially in Boca Raton, where everybody is moving towards concierge service. I wouldn't be surprised if this place goes out of business in the next year.
