This was a lucky find as it wasn't on Yelp and usually it's my go to app. I say, loved it. If you are or have uppity kids you might not love it so much. The first thing my middle child said when he saw the name, Hotelito Escondido was "it should stay hidden." He didn't like the looks from the outside. I must admit I was a little shocked. It is in remodeling phase so it may get better. The rooms are huge, I had two rooms, one that included a kitchen, the other that had a balcony, both had an ocean view! We had a relaxing blast, my daughter who is nine, loved it too. It's not all inclusive, and I prefer this type hotel when traveling, it gets you out and visiting the town. Several beaches we visited only 20 minutes away, and the main plaza with the famous giant marlin is only 15 minutes away. Anyone can afford to have a getaway!

On top of that there is a great clean pool with a swim up bar, and a restaurant that serves great food. We don't usually eat out but we ate here twice because it was so good and the prices were very reasonable.

This place reminded me of the GTA heist mission . You could spend a whole day or two here just exploring the building and their several pools. As well as the nearby town. Most of the car rentals are now handled by one agency that occupies the Hertz booth. So yes you…read morerented from Thrifty but go to the Hertz booth. Our agent (forget name but he has glasses) was very professional and thorough, always explained what he was doing as we waded through the paperwork, then took us to vehicle and took pictures of and noted all the small dings etc, said we wouldn't pay for anything unless bigger than a credit card (I took a video as backup). Sent the pictures to me by email right after. We had bought insurance through Mexico Car Rental and Thrifty did not try to upsell us to full coverage, just explained we would be responsible for 20% of cost of any damages, which was ok by us. Return was painless, just brought car back and parked in same spot (go to Arrivals and cars are past terminal on the left if driving, go out door turn right then left if walking), signed a bit more paperwork then he went to car to check it out, came back and we were done. Fill to fill so no extra charges.

These people are crooks. They said the tire wasn't covered but we had comprehensive insurance. They brought us another car that had serious steering and stabilizing issues. Took out a 500 peso desperate to leave fast I didn't even complain when they charged me for the pizza anyway. I had to save my hearing because I need it professionally. Then laughed at me when I left. Average 96DB levels with peaks WELL over 100DB (I measured and showed it to them). Hearing damage sets in this level as soon as 15 minutes. I said I also have a small business - don't you even care about your STAFF? Another shrug. Wow. In a bar RESTAURANT!
