What they don't disclose in this is that there is a risk of death. My leg is left hurting worse, and more swollen--I look like I was in a car wreck. I was told this would last 6-8 weeks and the procedure isn't a cure. They wanted to do both of my legs but after the first procedure I declined to let them touch me again. It was not a pleasant experience. Perhaps in 6-8 weeks I may change my mind. I was also told after surgery that swelling above the knee is often due to inflammation. If I had known all of this I would have likely waited to have this surgery. I don't understand why they can't give you something to help you for pain before going into surgery.

When we went to make our annual appointments only to be told that our P.A. of nearly all those years was no longer with the practice!! It would have been nice to have been told before that. Anyway, we were assigned someone new and, because I have high blood pressure that has been uncontrollable, the new MD told me all heart related topics should be handled by my cardiologist from now on. Fair enough! So, along with our trusted P.A. leaving the practice, they have hired a downright NASTY woman to call and remind me that I am old and must be seen far more frequently than annually or they won't refill my prescriptions! Fortunately the the Cardiologist is conducting monthly tests as he adjusts my BP meds which include blood tests. Every single result is sent to my Primary Care practice as well as Cardiology. When I explain this to Ms. NASTY, she tells me I still must come in to be seen by them. Why? So they can make more money. I'm sorry but I find that just plain crooked. So, as of three days ago I have no more Metformin 509mg and they call that "care"?

Felt pain with rain and barometric pressure drops. Had five orthopedic surgeons say "you need to get your knee replaced." Was about to agree with them, but sometimes it pays to be skeptical. Dr Hamilton and others came up with a treatment. "Knee replacement?" They were correct. Pain was caused by previous surgery done by another practice, that's no longer recommended as doctors and medical professionals have learned. After six months of PT, I was able to avoid this unnecessary surgery. Thanks to Anderson my knee is now properly aligned, and without the cost and pain either. Definitely go here!

Most routine appointments are handled by his PAs. I've had several over the years, all of whom have seemed competent and follow in Gehring's pattern of treating patients as an integral member of the medical decision-making process. Only complaint with Dr. Gehring's practice is that he and most of the specialists he refers to don't have privileges at my preferred hospitals (Alexandria Hospital and iNoVA Fairfax). As far as I'm aware, the only nearby hospital he and his practice-mates have privileges at is iNoVA Mt. Vernon (which I've had dangerous and costly experiences at and refuse to return to).
