The hygienists are amazing; anything more complex things really fell apart for us. And if we're paying premium out of pocket, we felt it made no sense. Ask a question on the phone? "I'll ask doctor." Then one second later: "Doctor says ..." I'm not even sure how that's possible, logistically. It felt odd. During exams, x-rays and any questions were run over to wherever doctor Stewart was somewhere in the building, and the dental assistant runs back to say and do what doctor Stewart said. It was like the Wizard of Oz. And this was the first thing we had that was pretty complicated (for us)/not a simple cavity. I feel that's not okay. It was all kind of "we'll deal with it" but we ran into a new (I assume) admin or office manager--not sure who she was, but "back office". We experienced a conversation I felt was demeaning and accusatory. Way out of character for what things had been. We switched; sad because we all loved Dr. Stewart.

I called to schedule an appointment for a family member, explained to them that I would be translating for the appointment. They said it was okay and did not even ask what language. They called about a week before to confirm the appointment and when the topic of having me interpret for the appointment came up they told me I couldn't. When I asked if they could instead offer an interpreter service they said no and that they don't have those services. They automatically assumed that we needed Spanish and said someone in their office speaks Spanish but only on Thursdays. I explained that Spanish is not our language, and asked once again since they are refusing to let me translate, if they could provide someone to translate. They said no, and that they wouldn't be able to proceed. I tried to explain that healthcare providers are required to provide interpreters under Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act and ADA. They claimed they weren't aware of such laws. The office manager name is Kasey and she was so un empathetic of the situation. As a healthcare professional myself, I always provide services to any and all patients regardless of their language and gladly offer language services. It's a basic right, which clearly this practice does not understand. Will be reporting to the Dental Board.

But this last visit was one of the worst dental visits I have ever experienced in my almost 60 years on God's green earth. I went in to get a crown. After the doctor had "numbed" me up, he began working on me and whatever he used did not do the job. The procedure was causing me pain. So I let him know, and he administered more anesthesia. However, that didn't help. I could still feel the work he was doing, and it was causing me a lot of discomfort. I decided just to grind through it and get it over with. Unfortunately, at one point he got me so bad I yelled out in pain. I was stunned at Dr Crummett's reaction. He got angry. I am the one who just got hurt, and he's the one fuming about it. No apology, just a furrowed brow. Soon after my appointment, I began experiencing pain in the tooth he worked on. Just couldn't bring myself to go back. That last visit was brutal. So scheduled a visit with my wife's dentist. I'd suggest looking elsewhere if you are in need of a dentist. It might be time for the dentist to call it a career.

Now I have always felt like dentists will always find something and sure enough they did but it was work I know I needed and so proceeded to have it all done. The procedures were painless and overall I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Every single staff member I have met has been awesome and genuinely caring and I now have my kids go here because I have so much faith in them.
