A neurologist in St. Petersbur, Central Neurology, 2201 Central Av. 33713…read more Please stay away from this neurologist. My daughter after seven months in ICU and rehab visited Dr. Vasquez for the first time in September of 2025. He somewhat evaluated my daughter for neuro spasticity in her arm and leg. Because she had a treatment already with Botox a month before seeing him she could not get a treatment until after three months. This was ok with us.. I felt uneasy about this Dr's demeanor at time of this visit. He took little time to go over my daughter's medical history, was unresponsive to questions or how she felt overall. It was a disappointing visit to say the least. Because not many neurologists perform this procedure , we agreed to come back regardless at the recommended wait period for the injections of Botox and with the understanding her leg and arm would be injected next visit to relieve her pain from spasticity. Next visit-Dr. Vasquez was surprised by our visit and seemingly unhappy to see my daughter. He was uninformed about why we were there until we told him. He then refused to inject my daughter's leg because he said it was contraindicated for the condition. He hurried through the injections in her arm and treated her as if she wasn't even a human. Never once did he ask about how she was, or her overall well being. On the contrary he became angered when questions were asked about why he was not able to inject my daughter's leg And stormed out of the room. This Dr on two occasions was unpleasant and unprofessional with no empathy. His office staff a bit better but not much. Seems no one there really cares about the patients. It's a dark unfriendly office environment as well.

Yes, he is busy, as there are not enough neurologists in Florida but I fully trust him.

He Want a follow up in four weeks but said they would not change the meds for two months. So will charge another copay for no reason. It's easy to get an appointment here for a good reason.

The staff is absolutely uncaring and dispassionate. While waiting for someone other than a new nurse to see me, I kept hearing laughter, chatter, and giggling from the staff, but no one bothered to let me know when I would be seen for my appointment and for my problem. At the end I felt that I would never see anyone, so I had to leave. Also, during this pandemic, management appears to have never informed the staff, that care should be given to communications. Spoken instructions and questions must be done with care and understanding. Fast and low level speech is muffled by masks and barriers, and elderly patients have a much more difficult time understanding what is being communicated. Lip readers have no chance at all. But the staff at this facility not only does not seem to care, but they actually appear to be either naive or just plain ignorant of these facts.
