I think the best bet is to stick with wedding photography, here. I've seen much of what they've done and it's nice enough.
But, if you have any interest in a true boudoir shoot, this is not the place to go!! The makeup artist was very nice--but she uses Mary Kay makeup, so my eyes watered all afternoon! I asked for "natural" (and I made finger quotes) makeup and it looked like she'd accomplished that. I wanted to be able to cut my head off some of the shots and use the headshot for more professional/colloquial ventures. Unfortunately, the "natural" makeup and the floodlights served to flood my face. I'm no skinny-mini but I do have some contours in my face--none of which showed!
The photographs, when done, were lovely. But they were DREADFUL photographs of ME. I'm fat. I like to be photographed as "curvy" but these photos were nearly exhaustive in their merciless-ness! There was no sexiness. There were odd closeups of my nose. (Thanks.) and every bump and bulge was displayed to horrifyingly honest degrees! The boudoir shoots I had twenty pounds ago made my body look juicy and sexy, not like a white, lumpy potato! The profile shot was equally bad. The photographer (whom I let lead the fashion dicates) suggested I wear the ill-fitting bra I'd thrown on to run to the shoot. Well, an ill-fitting bra doesn't shoot any better in profile!!!
The counter person-- Megan--also made me wait and refused to pinpoint how long the wait would be. I just wanted to know if I should run errands or not.
I usually pick about half the photos in a shoot and then torture myself trying to whittle down those choices. At Dani Fine I chose nine, intending to choose the one that was included with my package and maybe one more. Digital only. But, I really struggled!!
To be fair, I did not read the fine print--or the bold print. There were no images included in the shoot price. And to buy only digital would have to include the whole horrific mess of 104 mostly dreadfully unflattering photos. For $75 I could buy one print. I don't want or need prints... So, I chose to not throw good money after bad and I walked.
Megan told me that no one had ever done that, before and expressed her concern and Dan's concern, by extension. She told me Dani would likely call me to discuss my dissatisfaction. I generously offered to share with Dani all the great photos I had from previous shoots at other studios. This was weeks ago and I'm still waiting.
$400 later for an allergic reaction, a terrible shoot and nothing to show for it.... my bad? No, Dani Fine Photography's bad, for offering a service they clearly can't provide.
If you KNOW your sexuality, this is not the place for you. If you just want a fun few snaps of you in your underwear...Well, I still suggest you save your $$$! Update: I NEVER received any sort of apology nor inquiry call, although Megan assured me Dani would be really concerned at my great dissatisfaction. Apparently, Dani Fine doesn't give a crap. Except crappy product and service! read more
