My dear brother-in-law passed away out of state so we had to hire two funeral homes. The first funeral home did pretty much everything that you can think of, and Dangler Funeral Home received him thereafter. While we appreciate the limited role that Dangler had to play here, the accompanying costs were significantly more than the first funeral home, although limited services were performed by them. In fact, we even held the funeral services at our home church so no use of the the facility took place either and our home church also provided staff assistance so at the end of the day it made us wonder why there was such a huge cost - associated professional services fees, regardless of the limited services provided. All that considered, I would recommend diligently looking at neighboring funeral homes under unusual circumstances or else you run a great risk of paying costly fees for essentially very limited services. I'm sure that under customary conditions, their services are likely fine, however. The Danglers were nice and professional notwithstanding our disappointment in the related costs in light of the services delivered. We do understand that at the end of the day they are a business so we can appreciate that although it doesn't make it any easier, but just something to be aware of when making arrangements for your loved one. We were subsequently told that one of the funeral home should have waived or reduced their fee under these circumstances.
