Our room had a small balcony with a view of the garden. Their "large shower room" does indeed contain an impressively large shower. The glassed-in breakfast room (also with a view of the garden) is gorgeous, and the breakfast itself quite generous. We were in Chichester for a wedding and had a bit of spare time, and the hosts suggested a historic walking tour, which turned out to be fascinating. In all, a memorable experience.

My friend and I felt immediately at ease and at home. Julie and Neale were able to provide restaurant recommendations and directions for the local area. The guesthouse has an excellent location with the high street and beach just around the corner. There are no parking facilities at the guesthouse, but I was able to park on the nearby residential street with no problem and left my car there all weekend. My friend and I stayed in the twin room, which was very large and ideal to fit all of our belongings in. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room, free wifi, hair dryer and complimentary toiletries, along with other helpful extra's in the drawers. The rooms are of modern decor and felt very luxurious. The complimentary breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and the added touch of homemade smoothies and juices. My only complaint is that the breakfast was so nice, I would have liked more! An extra sausage would have been nice. We both asked for the special eggs which were impressive! Our visit completely exceeded our expectations and i will definitely be back. Personal service and a great price.

Great service, very helpful, charming owners, and lovely breakfast. Very clean, nice and quite place. Short drive from a sea side, very nice pub short walk from there with a great food . Enjoyed the stay immensely and the only thing I regret is not being able to stay longer... Oh, and one more thing - absolutely fantastic home-made muffins we got with a breakfast - baked in the morning, still warm when we came down ! If I'm going to be in that part of England I will stay there again. More than sure.

It turned out to be just what I had hoped to find, charmingly unpretentious, run by a warm and friendly couple of guys who were helpful in every way, from picking me up at the train station to helping me work out transportation to and from the performances and for my travel back (I decided to stay on 2 days after the operas, to get in a bit of local sightseeing and they were helpful there too) . The food was simple and tasty, and they made an effort to please individual tastes and needs. The room was simple and comfortable, with a charming view from the window of the downs, and the bed just great. No great chandeliers and snootiness, just friendliness, helpfulness and calm, exactly what I was looking for. I certainly will go back if my good fortune takes me back to that part of the world

The place is BIG and labyrinthine too - just going to the loo from the public bar prompted a Spinal Tap 'Hello Cleveland' moment!!! They offer (the omnipresent) Harveys and Wells' Bombardier and the bar is spacious and 'living room' comfortable. We're talking big sofas and large tables. Very luxurious indeed. They have an equally large restaurant that seemed pleasingly upmarket but affordable. Have a look at their website. Also they were offering fresh Cornish lobster, fresh Orkney mussels and (yet more!) fresh fish from Hastings. Nice. Recently resurrected TW Qypestro legrandflaneur was on hand and reckoned the Bombardier was a bit iffy, so did I, so only four stars this time.

The room is small but has everything you need (other rooms are bigger), and the private bath is enormous, with up-to-date fittings and lovely amenities. Although it's just a few minutes' walk from Chart House B&B to the center of Dorking, the place is very quiet at night, and it has a gorgeous garden at the back that guests can use. Many people staying there seemed to be in the area for business and staying long-term, but Chart House would also make a wonderful center of operations for anyone touring Surrey. We opted for the continental breakfast, which was lavish enough for anyone who doesn't need eggs and meat in the morning. Chart House is excellently run, and if you stay there, do ask Jill about her life--she has had many interesting experiences! We loved it here.

We picked The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells at it had availability and seemed to meet what we were looking for. We enjoyed the afternoon using the facilities such as the pool and steam rooms. The hotel bar was nice and we had a very enjoyable lunch. I enjoyed a De Stressed massage, which left me exceptionally relaxed. The massage really set me off on a good note and I was looking forward to the rest of the stay. However, this is really were the good things about our stay ended. The room we got, which was booked as a double premium suite was no where near what we would have expected for the rate we paid. The room was in the eaves and quite a bit cramped. As I am more so on the taller side, this was clearly going to lead to a few head bumps. Fortunately, those we amazingly avoided. That left us with the evening ahead. Unimpressed by the restaurants menu and high price, we set out down the road for the Pantiles and found a great couple of places. After returning and settling down for the evening, things really turned for worse. The air conditioner made noises every 30 minutes or so when it wasn't on that would wake you up. The bed was exceptionally small and only fit two people if one lay sideways. The ability to properly sleep in these conditions was just unachievable. After a very rough night and lack of sleep, the relaxing feeling that I had was long gone and replaced with extreme tiredness and plenty of soreness. We are exceptionally disappointed with what can only be referred to a terrible stay. This hotel really had the opportunity to be top notch, but it severely missed the target. Don't think we would likely stay here again.
