I've never utilized an attorney or thought about contacting one for any accidents or injuries that I have incurred until recently. Being local and well-advertised I reached out to Dane Shulman Associates LLC.  Called got a message, left a message, and waited for the return call.  The associate who returned my call sounded disinterested, like he's heard it all before, and was just going through the motions.  He was condescending, arrogant,  curt in his responses, and when rhetoric was challenged flustered. So in closing, I like to say;  This community does not need you,  you need us.  So take that funky, condescending, unprofessional, two-bit, sheisty, incompetent, substandard, second-rate, poverty-pimping boutique law firm elsewhere. read more

I had James Ostendorf as my lawyer and thank God I did. I was served 2 days before Thanksgiving 2021 with a contempt on my divorce. I only had a certain amount of days to respond, and I had called about 5-6 lawyers. All of them refused my case because of the 'difficulty'. Fortunately for me it led me Mr. Ostendorf. Unfortunately, the judge sided with my husband and decided to take it to trial. As scary as that can be, having a lawyer who is not only confident but kind made me feel better. He walked me through every step and every motion he was going to file. He made sure to explain to me that he planned to ask for a dismissal and why, and even told me the truth saying it might not be likely. It is nice to have a lawyer who is completely open and honest with you. Whether I won or lost, he still did a great job. The bonus was winning, which we did. When I was in an auto accident a friend recommended Dane Shulman Associates. When I called them, someone came out to my employment the next day and sat with me to explain everything. It was pretty standard, "We don't get paid unless we win", " We take 30% as our portion", "We'll handle everything". Well, they did handle everything, and they did get paid with a win, but they didn't take 30% .... they took 50% of the settlement .... 50% !!!! Apparently they don't tell you they are going to tack on fees and admin charges. I was told it was just the 30% in the initial meeting. 50% !!!!! read more

I understand a lawyers office can get pretty busy but I've had enough these people. Ive been trying to get my money forever from this Law Firm. I' m finally told the check was mailed out just to find out it was sent to the wrong address. So now they are not sure how long it will take to issue another one or wait to see if it gets returned? They just went above and beyond. They took the case when others would not, and got a better outcome than I expected. As of right now, I am pretty pissed off with these people. I also have Lindamarie as my attorney, I was rear ended back in June, went through the full physical therapy and have only talked to the lady once. Every time I call they tell me she's gone for the day and the receptionist sounds annoyed and when I ask her when I can speak to an actual human being she says call back after 9am. I'm not calling anyone anymore, I'm walking in there in person to see what kind of Mickey Mouse operation they have going on here and if I don't hear what I should here, that your case is a slam dunk and it will be settled momentarily, I'll simply fire them and go elsewhere. Its taking them forever anyways so I dont see what I have to lose by starting fresh elsewhere. Its easy for the lawyer to sit back and wait because they're already loaded, not the case for me. Bottom line is if I don't get a reply to the email I just sent by 5pm today, goodbye Dane Schulman, there are plenty of other lawyers that will take a case like mine and have it settled within a week at this point, it's been 8 months and I was REAR ENDED, they're not defending me on a murder wrap for God's sake. read more

Doesn't return calls. Lies about court dates. Didn't pay medical bills when they said they did. Repeatedly stated they haven't received correspondence when information was sent to their office on multiple occasions. They represent themselves as fighters for your injury, but the sad reality is they play a numbers game with insurance companies, they just do the minimal amount of work to get the insurance company to settle. Then they move onto the next case. Actual work and proper filing of papers are not their strong point. This is the bottom of the barrel in the legal world folks, and the insurance companies all know fully well that Mike and Mike and the rest of them aren't going to actually show up in any meaningful manner. Worst decision you could do is having anything to do with these people. They bought the name of a fine attorney who now has absolutely nothing to do with these people. They bought the name, and now they are disgracing it. read more
