This was actually the first restaurant I tried in Argentina and that was only because this was the only place open around noon on a Saturday. Maybe I was feeling blah after an extra long flight and my tastebuds were off, but Dandy got the job done of providing real food. However, no "wow" factor. The lasagna was extremely salty. I did enjoy the salmon with veggies and a pot roast dish, the meat was really tender. Service was good, restrooms were clean. Great atmosphere. Good food. A few complaints: 1) It's weird that I can't order brunch for one person. Marshall Erickson would have something to say about that. 2) Why not give me options for tea? It's no extra work for them. And 3) the French toast was very dry. Not much egg and even less sauce. Also the service was SLOW. But overall I am still happy about it. We stopped here because we were hungry and it looked charming. Unfortunately we should have looked further and not stopped out of hunger. THE WORST HAMBURGER OF MY LIFE! And I am not exaggerating. Meat of poor flavor and so full of sinew is was startlingly difficult to chew. Onion skin, that should have been removed in normal food prep, was too tough to chew. Bun was mediocre. Condiments we sparse and mediocre. French fries were well below average. Service was very slow. Overall a painful experience in a beautiful city with a myriad of better dining options. Really busy, happening restaurant. Food is top notch. Service is good even when busy. Had breakfast and brunch here. Both were very good. Definitely a nice, clean place that accepts credit cards and is easy to find in the middle of the touristy and busy neighborhood. read more

The waiters are kinda unfriendly even if you're conducting the visit in Spanish. Kind of get the impression they don't give a sh.. which is atypical of what I've experienced with the Portenos. Obviously the owner had put some investment into the place so not sure why the staff is so crap for the most part baffles me, maybe treated poorly? But there was one younger make waiter that waa super nice when he delivered my food (no my main server did not serve the food) later I even saw the guy go and clean the messy cheek of some child customer, it was kind of a sweet scene. I wish I snapped a pic of my short kinda chubby shaved head waiter. I think he has to be one of the most unfriendly craptastic waiters I've ever experienced. I didn't hear a single greeting come out of his mouth from the beginning or at the end of the encounter. I would like to think that he was having a bad day but I think that is really his baseline. FOOD The lemonade with ginger and mint was lacking big time just tested like musty South American lemonade with some dirty herb... Or just dirt. They could've at least macerated the ginger and mint. Throwing it on top isn't gonna impart any flavor, later I came to notice a baby roach in it so maybe that's the dirty flavor came from. I brought it to their attention, replaced with sparkling water, no apology by the waiter I informed or the waiter that was serving me. I get it; it's not North America/Europe so bugs in your drink tend to be the norm from time to time, though I don't typically expect that if your at a place that you're paying North American or European prices. Luckily they took off the lemonade from the bill and just charge me for the sparkling water (along with the food of course). They also have these bread baskets, considering it's supposed to be known for baking it would've been great to have tried one. But looking around the restaurant some of the other diners were served the breadbasket however I wasn't, I didn't see it on the menu so I'm not really sure how one qualifies to get it or you just have to ask for it? I will say that my chicken sandwich was pretty good. I like a nice char on the chicken word on the sleeves a superficial jerky texture and the Guacamole was pretty good as well. The potato fries were awful, they were British style and lukewarm, instead of being in slices like fries they were more cut into cubes greasy and soggy. I wanted to try a dessert but given the combination of the food debacle and shitty service by my waiter I opted to not to give the business any more money. I came here based on a recommendation by a local. However when reading the reviews that were in English most of them seem to impart a lukewarm feeling about it. I agree, I wouldn't go out of your way to go to this place and there are plenty plenty better places nearby. I definitely won't be going back and I definitely will inform my friends & family traveling to Buenos Aires to avoid this place. read more

Thanks to a Yelp search, we decided to try out the closest place to our hotel on the way to Feria De San Pedro Telmo (the Sunday Market here in Buenos Aires), and this brunch will definitely get us through a full day of shopping! If you have a chance, visit Dandy for brunch on a Saturday or Sunday after 11:00am. It's only $298AR (around $22 US) for two people. I thought they would never stop bringing food to us! My first week in the neighborhood and I've only tried their bread and pastries (please do take note that old school baked goods are something of a passion ...). Breads are handmade, traditional and incredibly good. Obviously the product of time, patience and knowledge. As for the croissants, I've only had a better at Trung Nam bakery in St. Paul and that speaks volumes. Will try the lunch/dinner entres soon - they look phenomenal. Saw the cordero stew tonight and was tranfixed...need to go here for dinner soon! read more

BOMB brunch! Great plates, super friendly servers. I would especially recommend this place for breakfast and coffee.

Busy place because the food is delicious! Try the flatbread pizza or any salad. Mushroom risoto is good too. They also offer a seasonal menu with a variety of options. We go there frequently because we live a block away. Check out the specials too. Someone mentioned the waiters are rude, but who cares?! Almost all waiters are rude in Argentina - it's not about you, I promise! Remember that you're in THEIR house and just be polite and be a good ambassador of your own home country. Go for the food and the good service. Bread with butter or olive oil before your food comes is delicious and fresh. Sit upstairs where you can see down into the bakery part of the kitchen. It's warm in the winter up there and smells wonderful. You'll find something delicious on the menu. Enjoy yourself and the person sitting across the table from you, and dig in! read more

Tried this place because we walked by and it looked nice. The croissants and pain au chocolat are very good. We also ordered a fruit bowl which was awesome. So much fresh fruit! Coffee is decent, not the best we have had in Buenos Aires, but good. Staff is friendly, but obviously do not expect service to be as fast as in the US.
