Now what?? We had no idea what to do! I did some research and bumped into Sitter4Paws on Yelp. We signed up for their boarding services. There is a preliminary meet and greet from one of the sitters, who meets your pet (ours is Lola) and take notes of everything (food, toys, treats, you name it). It made my life super easy, as I didn't have to really write any instructions out. I was super nervous the first day when we were abroad. I was checking my phone at every chance I could get. We later got an update within the timeframe we arranged and was super excited to see photos of Lola, his fresh food, and having fun with their dog (they are dog owners too)! It instantly made our nerves vanish. It was great reading about Lola's stay while we were having fun. I got every daily update as agreed, up until we picked her up. We have lived in Wilton Manors for 5 years…read morebut resisted using Wilton's Manor (even tho they are located next door to our vet) because staff is not there overnight (they do come back briefly for late-night potty breaks). As a paranoid, over-protective pet owner, that worried me but these guys went above and beyond. We originally booked boarding for 4 nights at Camp Canine. In between the time we made the reservation and the date of our departure, we learned our 12 year old lab Kylie is diabetic and required daily insulin shots. When we relayed this new info to Camp Canine we were promptly informed "no, we don't do shots" (they also refused to return our deposit). With about a week before our vacation, we came here. We told them about Kylie's needs and no one batted an eye. They agreed to walk her next door to the vet for her shots and 3 different staff members volunteered to administer the insulin themselves when the vet's office was closed. What's more, we were also boarding our 1 year old great dane Django, who is quite the handful. Right up to the end, these guys went the extra mile. Our return trip had our plane landing at 5pm on a Sunday. Wilton's Manor closes at 5 on Sundays. Staff member Matthew agreed to stay at work for an extra hour Sunday evening to give us time to get off the plane and rush from the airport to their location so that we could bring our doggies home that night. They followed all my feeding and medical instructions to a tee and had all our supplies and unused food packaged up for us when we arrived to check out. They post multiple photos and videos to their Facebook page daily, which is also nice to see when you hand over care of your animals to someone else. I would not hesitate to bring my dogs back here for boarding or daycare.
