The last time I visited The Dancing Greek was in 1988, when it was more commonly known as Huron House Restaurant. What a change the years have brought. I was pleasantly surprised. Entering you pass thru the Huron House portion of the location. Don't let the fact that it looks empty throw you off. After walking thru to the back, you enter into The Dancing Greek. The atmosphere is cozy, an archway accents the centre of the dining room and Mediterranean murals continue the cozy feeling.
The food. Well portioned and fresh. We started our meal with a few appetizers. A medley of Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), Spanakopita (spinach and feta cheese wrapped in phyllo), Keftethes (Greek meatballs), Triopita (cheese pie), and Loukanika (Greek sausage). All with wonderful flavour and a taste of homemade. For entree I decided on Pork Tenderloin Souvlaki. I was not disappointed. Portions, again, were very well portioned. You get your monies worth. The pork was cooked to perfection, tender and moist. Served on a bed of rice with crisp vegetable medley, alongside potatoes. The pita bread was flavourful, warm and soft. The tstziki sauce is probably the best I've tasted in some time.
Service was friendly and helpful. Our waitress was very attentive to our every need. With the food and service you feel they have pride in the end product.
I will return. And although I did not partake this time, I recommend the flaming cheese appetizer, the presentation is memorable. read more
