The staff are not only beautiful dancers and skilled teachers, but they are beautiful souls, as well. They come to the studio (I won't say "work," as it is "play" for them!) as their best selves, and offer their presence, attention and knowledge, a generosity of spirit, to their students. I am a fan of the private lessons, which is their primary vehicle of teaching, where, as a 'follower,' I get held and led as if I am a precious gem. For those of us who have accumulated a collection of bumps and bruises along the journey called 'life,' it can be very healing! I find it so! They are devoted to making sure that their students have a great experience. So, dancing at Fred Astaire feeds me emotionally and spiritually, as well as providing an incredible vehicle for my physical well-being. I don't even notice that I am getting exercise while I dance across the floor--there is too much joy! Yes, learning to dance opens my heart to joy, which is the best medicine for my health! I had a sadness throughout my life that dance had not been a larger part of it. No one is more surprised than me to discover that I am blossoming as a dancer in my mid-sixties! I can't imagine a better food for my soul than this. This is a well run studio, and I encourage anyone who thinks they might benefit like I have, to find a way to fit as little or as much as they are able to into their lives. I'm ecstatic that I did.

Unfortunately, the owner's pushy/aggressive demeanor and the way she berated me in front of my guests was unacceptable. Many of the party guests found her to be offensive (rushing them, being unnecessarily bossy, rude to both the children and adults). I gave her the benefit of the doubt and figured she just ran a tight ship to keep the place clean and party on schedule, although I did feel very rushed during food/cake time. I actually have her on video loudly hurrying my daughter to blow out her birthday candle! Towards the end of the party, I generously gave a $50 tip to our party attendant. The owner ran over, snatched the tip out of her hand and dramatically laid the money out on the table, counted it OUT LOUD bill by bill and started YELLING AT ME that it was not enough! I can't believe I was treated this way after spending over $600 at her establishment for a 2 hour party (only the first 30-40 min of it was actually run by them- the rest was free time while they ate in the back). She would not let up after several minutes, telling me that culturally I should tip 15% of the party total (I should add that she was including the $80 in pizza I ordered and tipped for in that total) and that most people tip $45-$60 per party attendant (she considers herself, the owner, to be an attendant). When I told her I did not have any more cash on me she demanded I venmo the party attendant (she was so embarrassed she refused to give me her venmo) She would not let up until I told her she was ruining my daughter's special day. My friends and family who overheard the incident were appalled. Gratuity is at the discretion of the customer. If she wanted to include required gratuity in her price, she should have done so.

The seating is perfect for even me. Good room for my knees not too feel cramped. The sound system is excellent and clear. It made perfect to hear each instrument. Excellent parking lot. Can come in the back and front to get in the venue. They sell snacks and beverages prior to the show in the lobby. Great date night, girls night, if looking for a comedy show, music concert, or play type event. Check the calendar and buy tickets on line or at the box office prior to the event. The kids are always engaged in some sort of wonderful summer time fun from pedal karts to archery to swimming, fishing, ceramics, computers. You name it, they likely have it for your child. Lunch is also varied and very nutritious. The Jordan family runs a wonderful facility and we can't wait to come back for yet another season at Rambling Pines.

We were fortunate enough to stumble across this event held at the Rockingham Historic Site. This…read moresite on this day was run mostly by the Montgomery High School historic Club. This function was so well run and organized. My children were amazed on what they learned and had so much fun playing with the toys from that era. I can't say enough about the students of volunteered their time. We were so lucky to have come across this event. There is a small Museum Store located on everybody there is helpful and friendly and very enthusiastic for the cause. Being a huge supporter of foundations much like this one I would suggest anybody looking to donate to a foundation to support the Rockingham Historic Site for George Washington's home in Franklin. Go online and set yourself up for a tour of the home and other fun events which are usually held in the barn.

Took a flying lesson with Brandon as my flight instructor on Sunday. It was very windy and a bit…read morescary, but Brandon being the professional that he is, made the flight like a walk in the park. After a few minutes I started to get used to things and he went through the controls and instruments. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life and I recommend it to EVERYONE..
