But the owner wrote an untrue e-mail and her staff threw me under the bus and those were not the facts. I will never get a refund from her and I e-mailed her that I would pick up the check yesterday. The owner did not reply to my e-mail so I thought the check would be there but no I had to have an argument with one of the teachers and she refused to call the owner. The check has been lost in the mail since August 24th and now she says will refund my bank which would take 30-90 days but she wanted her money and refusing to give my money back in a timely manner. Plus I longer have that bank. In the e-mail it stated that I and my family member went into the rooms which was not true and there were other parents there and my child present that can attest to that. She said in the e-mail if we step on her property again that she is going to call the police but we never stepped inside the class room and apparently the dance teachers have a had problems in the past and now I can see why. Apparently either I will never get my $90 back and she stole or will get a lawyer involved. She told me it would take 30-90 day for the bank to refund my money and unfortunately since I had so much fraud on my account I had to switch bank accounts. I have all the e-mails that I have sent her and the replies or lack of replies that she sent. Ellen will not teach older children, and your child has to start at 4 or 5 years old otherwise she will not teach kids. She says dance is for everyone but that is not true. And how she conducts business or lack business is unacceptable. I would not recommend taking my children to your studio. She did not even help me to find another dance studio for my child or any recommendations since she canceled class the last day. And now I cannot pay my bills and have to wait another 3 months for a possible refund. This is unacceptable. She requires payment to keep your studio running but does not understand peoples live. All I asked was for the check to be there yesterday and I e-mailed her to say I have not received the check and to please have the check ready. She did not send a response, and I did not think there would be an issue. The lack of customer service and communication is unacceptable.

The quality and timing (cancellations) of solo practices resulted in us getting them additional outside training. Website home page still has last year's info and links from two years ago. Last minute cancellations and venue changes, with us coming to studio needlessly multiple times. At first performance, while sitting there peacefully waiting for the dances to start, Vault photographer shows up at last minute and wants the space I'm saving for my daughter. I tell her no. She moves our stuff and takes it anyway. Jerrica told my granddaughter she could be in HipHop. Granddaughter was all excited. Then when my granddaughter showed up to practice, Jerrica said she changed her mind. Though first Jerrica said she never said ok, but later admitted it. Granddaughter was very disappointed. Now the season is almost over and we still don't have the jacket we paid for a long time ago. Jerrica said she has it. She's just not ready to give it me. Forget resolving any issues that arise, Jerrica unwilling to address or followup. Jerrica will just say it never happened. It appears, if you add a class it costs more, but if you drop a class you are told it's part of the program and no refund. Update: My granddaughters were dismissed from studio due to this review. The highlight of the summer was having the opportunity to learn from and dance with Lauren Anderson! I ended up taking dance at UH for the fall semester, so unfortunately I have not been back to dance here. The owner and founder, Sherese Campbell, taught the ballet class we were in. She's inspiring and really makes you want to dance better. The students are awesome, some of them are City Dance Company dancers and they are just as inspiring. Our summer intensive class ranged from teenagers to adults in their 30's-40's. The summer intensive classes are cool because you do (for example) ballet one week and hip-hop another week (for the first 1.5 hours) and then like yoga or tap for the second 1.5 hours. Intensive classes are usually from 9 AM - 3 PM, but I only went from 9 AM - noon and it was $150/week vs. $250/week. Currently don't have time/money to take intensive classes again, but would love to go back soon. It's pretty convenient if you live near Rice/ West U. If you are unsure about anything or have reservations, Sherese is always willing to help and encourage you!
