I took my foster dog to Dana for grooming. I called her ahead of time and asked her if she was familiar with the breed. She said yes she was and she could do it. When I picked him up, she had cut the hair along his body to about a half an inch and left the hair long on his legs and belly. He looked like a Schanuzer. I tipped the groomer (not knowing at the time that it was Dana herself) and left, but as I drove home I was able to look at him more closely, I saw how short his hair was and I became more upset. I think it may have ruined his coat, only time will tell.
When I called Dana to discuss it with her, because it really was a terrible job. I told her he didn't look like a Cairn Terrier anymore. and she said she did a Cairn cut. Which I don't know where she got her grooming book, but THAT is not what Cairn Terriers should look like. When I told her so, she hung up on me. Apparently she believes that she knows everything about every breed, and way more than someone who owns three, rescues many and has done a lot of research on that specific breed.
I tried to call her back again, she let it go to voice mail. When I tried a third time, they actually picked up the phone and slammed it down so I couldn't even leave a message.
Needless to say I am furious. How does someone run a business with that attitude? I never raised my voice and to be treated so badly, well. as you can see here I am voicing my concerns.
I would never recommend her as a groomer. i would never take another dog there and unless you have a really trendy breed they see all the time, DON"T!!!!! The dog didn't even look like the picture in the book they showed me, so apparently she is grossly incompetent.
Just as a back up, when I posted it on my personal Facebook wall, two other people from the area, and I don't know that many people here, said they had the same experience with her. Maybe they are good at doggie daycare, but I wouldn't go near them for grooming.
It also says a lot that she would hang up on a client without hearing them out. I don't know anyone with any sense that would run their business that way and risk all the bad word of mouth. So, she could have refunded my $40 and I never would have made this post. You reap what you sew. read more
