In my experience, Knoxville Orthodontics lacks integrity. In 2021, I decided to get adult braces…read morefor the second time. My dentist said my teeth didn't need braces and suggested Invisalign for the gaps that had formed, but I needed my top teeth shifted back. I was biting my lip, and I felt like my speech was impacted. So, at 40 years old, I decided to get braces again. I went to a consultation and was given an estimate for around $6,000. Mind you, my teeth were straight. My own dentist office said I didn't need braces. But, I thought this is a professional place and while it's expensive, especially for what I needed, I trusted what Knoxville Orthodontics told me I needed. They were close to my house, and their building was nice. They seemed legit. I spent almost 2 years in braces. I spent about $4000 out of pocket. I noticed that my teeth didn't hurt after "tightenings." I came to realize that I obviously didn't need braces for that long, but I was told I needed them that long so they could get $6000 out of me. I also paid extra for clear braces and wires. Towards the end of my treatment, I was no longer getting clear wires. Once I paid my braces off, they came off around June of 2024. I realized my top teeth had not been pushed back. My gaps were barely closed up. They told me I'd need to go to the dentist to get fillings or whatever to fix that. Long story short, shop around. I feel very taken advantage of. I have adhd and autism and I was going through some really hard stuff so it took me some time to process this and write my review.

Eighteen Months. 18. These are my experiences with Dr. Turner…read more Month 1 - Braces on. Not quite painful, but hey alcohol has become my best friend. That and losing weight. Month 2 - 9 - Monthly tightening of my braces and whatnot. If you schedule at the same time you'll most likely get the same person. The person who worked on my braces was Melissa, she was pretty awesome! Month 10 - Had to go in twice this month because one of the brackets came off due to me eating too good during Christmas. Dr. Turner personally worked on it as everyone else was busy. Month 18 - Didn't get a chance to hit that deadline, but that's all good... my braces weren't paid off. Month 20 - Just a couple more weeks, and should be able to get them off. Finally, after almost 21 months of braces I got them off, and I have to say that Dr. Turner is a perfectionist and wont let you go or won't sit right with himself if he doesn't get your teeth to perfection or near perfect. I was fine when it was around month 20, but several more weeks is what he told me and I'm glad I listened. Dr. Turner overall is amazing. He has that sort of calm personality that would make any of his patients understand and gain their trust. The first time I came here I didn't know what to expect. From my previous encounters of Orthodontists they all told me that I had to basically break my jaw and reconstruct it/go into surgery. After explaining to Dr. Turner that I didn't want to go that route, he said that he would do whatever to fix my problem and that he would do as if he would for his own kids. That to me meant a lot to me. Let's face it.. Orthodontics isn't the cheapest thing in the world. But, with this service on top of it I think it's worth it. If you're looking for an orthodontist to fix your grill, or your kid's... check this place out and see how you feel about Dr. Turner. For me, it was definitely a good choice and I wouldn't recommend anyone else.

I had long since lost a retainer, and my teeth were shifting back and in pain. I contacted Dr. Turner for a consultation, and to decide between getting invisalign to get my teeth back to where they were before, or just getting a retainer to keep the damage from getting worse. Everyone here was very professional, and the office was clean and modern. They explained in detail the difference between the two services I was requesting and answered all my questions. I ultimately opted for a simple retainer due to my budget. Dr. Turner went above and beyond, creating two retainers to adjust my teeth back to the correct position and making adjustments at follow up appointments. I am extremely satisfied and this will be the first place we come if my daughter needs any orthodontic work.
