We (stupidly) decided on Aspen Dental for her routine cleaning/ checkup. She had always had perfect teeth, but one tooth was feeling a little sensitive and was being monitored by her dentist in Florida for a few years. We were shocked when Aspen Dental told her she had 8 teeth with surface decay and beginning stages of gingivitis! She would need special cleanings and would need 8 fillings!!! We had no reason to question them. It was a summer of pain and misery for her. The first dentist was young. He messed up every single filling! They all had to be redone by a more experienced dentist. The staff was incredibly unprofessional, gossiping about each other while working on her, and continually downplaying her pain. One tooth with "surface decay" ended up, with the pathetic excuse for a dentist, hollowing out that tooth, and leaving it that way. We had to go back, multiple times, and have a more experienced dentist redo all of her fillings- )She used to like going to the dentist until her traumatic experiences in the Aspen Dental West Knoxville location. Today, she finally worked up the courage to see a dentist in Cleveland Ohio. Her fillings on the two teeth have never been right. When she would floss, the floss would break, because the fillings were so rough between those two teeth. Her new hygienist, in Cleveland Ohio, was surprised at the poor work on the fillings. Now, she needs a root canal on the teeth that, supposedly, had "surface decay." I'm about to say something that sounds crazy. Prior to this, she never had a single cavity. When she went to Aspen Dental, she only had one tooth that had discomfort, and may have had a cavity. We were shocked when Aspen dental told us she had 8 cavities. We, now, strongly suspect they lied. We believe they drilled into healthy teeth for money. We believe Aspen Dental lied about the amount of work she needed done and drilled healthy teeth. Something is very wrong about them. We are so upset and angry. This has caused daily misery for my daughter. She walked in with one sensitive tooth, and now her teeth are permanently impacted. RUN AWAY! Find another dentist. I wish we had searched a second opinion

They offered to connect me with a regional manager "complaint line." I declined having already done this and sent emails several times with no response. It seems Aspen's insincere offer to help was for readers of the reviews benefit rather then mine. More likely it was an autobot's response that monitors all forums for negative comments akin to their customer concern lines and customer care email addresses being black holes. Finally I just want to say that I rarely write reviews and this is the first negative review I have ever written.

Dr. Pate said I had a cavity in between two teeth and supposedly fixed them. When I went back because of discomfort his words were" oh there is a problem, and I need to re do the filling. He said he left bubbles in the filling that had to be redone. I had never heard of such a thing. He said I'm sorry, I wont charge you. However I got a bill for $676. I called the office 5 times and asked to speak to him, he finally called me and said he would look back at the records and call me back and that he was a "good Christian " and would see what he could do. He never did call me and I got another bill...so I sent three payments of 10 to his office in cash but when I got another bill the payments were not taken off. Today I got a letter from a collection agency and when I told her the story, she said, " call your attorney" this is not good and that they would put a hold on the collection until I pursued legal action . Dr. Steven J Lo Cascio In very literal terms " was a life saver"…read more When came to Dr. Lo Cascio I was interested in a simple crown replacement. I was examined and some x-rays were taken. Little did I know unannounced by two previous dentist, I had a serious infection, that left untreated could and would cause serious damage and possibly even death. Dr. Lo Cascio shook his head and told me I need 4 root canals and 4 new crown to get me healthy again. This Infection had been in my mouth for over a year and the damage would only get worse. I proceeded with what would end up taking three month to fix. Once Dr. LO Cascio and I agreed and started the long process I never felt uncertain or intimidated like I had been with the previous other two dentist, that By-the-way never mentioned I had an infection. Dr Lo Cascsio and his staff created an environment that put me at ease throughout the entire three month process. The entire office has an uncanny calm, I never dreaded having to go to my appointments. Dr. Lo Cascio and his staff shared a friendly banter. They always seemed happy to be there and were in great spirits, which was not the case at the other dentist offices.
