I can't say enough good things about this moving company. Our crew was absolutely fantastic and a delight to be around. Moving day is stressful and they made it so much easier! I moved an antique piano that was my mother's into a corner bedroom with a complicated entry. That crew was amazing! They had to try several approaches to rotate, flip and get just the right angle with the piano to make it work! On top of that, I was able to have them move other large furniture items from storage. I have only ever left a couple of negative reviews and sadly this is one of them. Make sure you tell them EVERY single item you expect them to move. I spoke to Josie (by the way note they record every minute of your call and don't tell you) and told her I had a two bedroom apartment 1 king 1 queen set and a few other items - no living or dining furniture or appliances - and have boxes. a week prior to move I called to ask a question about dresser drawers full or empty. was told that dressers wasn't part of my move Rex said not every bedroom has a dresser and nightstands. Rex admitted the person on phone was training and should have asked more questions. this is a cross country move and a lot of moving parts so we could not change our date to allow more time. I asked for deposit return said I had 24 hours from booking date but policy not on the website. I asked if they told me that in initial call that was recorded because I don't recall being told this. Rex was not able to answer and did say they will go ahead and return my deposit but will take time. yes. moving is frustrating I get that. however as professionals they should have asked questions and yes Rex admitted this and this is a great training experience. While we were both polite, no yell in on either end, I felt he was condescending and offered no viable solution. Long story short - hold them accountable. Record your conversation as they do. Check with other local movers. Read the reviews (look for hidden costs). Have them send list in writing or email. There are lots of other options out there thankfully we found one. read more

These guys were the most professional, hardworking guys! They moved my parents from their home they have lived in for 42 years! Walter and his team (Eric M, Eric S, and Jack J) arrived on time and got right to work. They took care and protected our furniture and loaded everything with care. The arrived the next day at the location we moved to earlier than we expected which was great! Again, they got right to work, they protected the doorway with padding so nothing got scuffed and placed the furniture and boxes in the rooms requested. We had a large safe that needed to be put in the basement and they handled it like pros! We also had an upright piano they had to move. These guys know what they are doing! We even had a few miscommunications on our end where some furniture needed to go and they moved it again like it was no problem at all. After a failed move to California, I came running back to Spokane. Have used these guys several times to move a piano and again last fall for a complicated series of moves. I scheduled them for 4pm because I didn't know if my Uhaul would be back earlier. It got back the day before and the guys were able to come at 1pm! Perfect! It took them less than an hour to unload the truck and we were able to turn it in a day earlier. The three guys were friendly and professional. I really enjoy working with them. They even hooked up my Lazyboy power chair for me! I won't hesitate to hire them for any future moves! read more

moving is stressful and moving in July is even more so, these guys were very helpful until they decided they were done. they left an entire moving truck worth of my belongings behind at my previous home. many things that are extremely hard to live unless you have a moving truck, hence why we hired them. we paid in full and contacted them the same day when we realized they left a lot of stuff behind and they were unwilling to send another truck to help finish the job we paid them for. wouldn't recommend them helping you move. very unprofessional. also damaged some of my furniture which I was willing to look past and not give them a hard time, but I see now they cut a lot of corners and it may have been their own lack of pride that resulted in my furniture being damaged. read more

I hired Dan the Moving Man to strictly load my belongings into a moving trailer over the course of two days for $230 an hour for 3 employees. I felt confident that I hired a professional company that would have the skill and knowledge to load my personal items efficiently but that was not the case. Once the transport trailer arrived at my new residence I was quite in shock when I unlocked the trailer and realized all of my items that were stacked to ceiling at the nose of the trailer had toppled over. The moving company that I hired to unload the trailer was in utter disbelief at the site of my belongings disheveled throughout the trailer and made a statement that experienced movers would never stack the nose of a trailer ceiling for an out of state move with no securement devices even though plenty were provided on the transport trailer. After all my belongings were unloaded, I realized that almost every item I owned was scratched, scuffed, chipped, cracked, broken, crushed etc. I was completely beside myself as some items hold sentimental value and are irreplaceable. At this point I felt that it was complete negligence and inexperience on the mover's part for this amount of damage to incur. I reached out to the General Manager, Rex to file a claim along with pictures of the damage and I was told my claim was denied and "if you wish to take legal action, we will respond accordingly." Rex also mentioned that they were not the only party involved in my move and I would like to state that once the movers completed loading my items, I put a lock on the trailer and took the only key, and I was the first one to open the trailer when it arrived at my new residence. Minimal damage is expected during a move but the amount of damage that was done to my personal belongings shows lack of experience and negligence on the mover's part and if you value and cherish your belongings I do NOT recommend Dan the Moving Man. We selected them because they had our piano in storage for over a year. We also had seen their advertisement on tv many times, claiming white glove service and had a 5 star Yelp rating. They are not even close to being a 5 Star moving company! On moving day, they "forgot" to bring the piano! So, 2 guys left and were gone almost 3 hours. They had shown up LATE with 4 trucks, 8 guys and 1 handcart! Now we're down to 6 guys, three trucks and 1 handcart for most of the move. They couldn't get it done in one day (many times I saw them carry one box, take a break, carry another box), so we were charged for a second day (of which they were also late). There was a lot of talking and inefficient slow working! The workers seemed untrained in how to get large pieces of furniture into rooms and through doorways. They damaged our kitchen table, our safe, a dresser and left scratches on several items ALSO the piano was delivered with a scratch it didn't have when we left it with them. Dan the Moving Man have someone who will come out to repair any damage, but he canceled his appointment with us and hasn't rescheduled after 3 weeks! Not a good experience! We thought we'd done our research, but what we got weren't efficient and professional movers. read more

We got a bid for a move which was a significant amount of money but we went with this company because they gave us a solid quote. All the other companies said there was no way to know how much it would be. The movers were friendly but they couldn't get it all in one load. So now we are stuck renting a uhaul trailer and moving the rest of it ourselves. It's stressful enough moving but when they don't complete the job it's even worse. They said we could pay more to have them come out and do it but there's no way we are going to give them more money. This is the first time we have ever hired movers and I'm so disappointed. read more

Dan The Piano Man (as Household Goods Moving) gave us the best moving experience we have ever had as we moved furniture to transition from our house to our condo. Contents were for 2 bedrooms, living room, dining room, and kitchen. We set aside a few lighter things ourselves to move later, but in retrospect wish we would have had them move everything, even smaller items. Our prior experience with professional movers (including moves across country as well as within Spokane, all with national companies btw) had left us resigned to the fact that moving inevitably results in some damage to the contents, coincidentally often very close to the deductible of the insurance provided. This move is the only move we've ever had with ZERO damage to both the contents and the house. This was a moderately substantial move: 3 very large dressers, case with glass shelves, several tables and chairs, 65" TV, large leather sofa, and a heavy recliner. They secured all the furniture with plastic wrap where applicable, wrapped everything delicate with individual pads, and even used a clamp-on pad for door jambs, something we've never seen before. When needed (sofa, recliner, bed frame) they expertly disassembled and then reassembled the furniture at the destination. The crew was extremely friendly and professional and arrived a few minutes before the scheduled time. The total cost came in below the estimate; this crew worked hard to get things done, including hauling the box springs up the exit stairwell. They also helped move remaining heavy furniture in the house (from the basement to upstairs) as we prepare to stage our house for sale with some of our remaining furniture. Recommend without reservation. Best moving company ever. read more

Walt and Jet did a fantastic job with a can-do attitude! There was a little rain on delivery day, so the truck couldn't make it all the way up the intended access road. Dan the Piano Man was hired for a military move. The movers only had to set up the piano in the house because it had already been delivered by the movers. They instructed us that a tune was included with the setup but that we needed to wait. It has been a year now and every time I call to arrange a tune I am told someone will get back to me but no one ever does. read more
