The soup was tasty, but they had tiny stringy shards of chicken that messed with the texture a little. On the bright side, there are no lumps. The sole risotto was also very good. The sole was perfectly cooked- flaky and flavourful with a very light crust, and the rice could only be described as al dente. The crouton was a very strange choice, but I'll let it slide. I topped off my meal with a coffee. To be brutally honest, it's definitely best served cold. I ordered a hot coffee and their supplier could have done a better job of roasting the beans- the coffee tasted burnt. Overall, I think this place is worth a visit. It offers decent food at a reasonable price... just avoid ordering a hot coffee.

He spent some time in New York, that's why he named this restaurant New York Cafe. They just recently expanded into 2 units and added Seaport Bar n Grill. This place is not like any steak house in New Territories. It's own by a humble man who cares about his customers and gives you the food quality without charging you a fortune. That's really rare in Hong Kong. Furthermore, you really don't get a lot of good western food in New Territories, even harder in Yuen Long. Both steak and seafood here are imported. Amazing Australian Prime Rib, Boston Lobster, and huge Mussels. For dinner sets, 8 oz Beef Tenderloin, Cajun Chicken Pizza, Fish & Chips are just mouth watering good. You just can't get this kind of food quality from local chain like King of Steaks. They also have a great wine selection. The owner Randy is a big wine drinker and cigar smoker. You would see him hanging out with a few friends smoking cigar here around 9pm every night. The wine priced fairly and I am sure the owner hand picked them individually. This is a 5 star restaurant for the quality of food, service, and particular for this location (Yuen Long). You can of course find better steak and seafood restaurant in TST and Central that charge you $1000+ a person. For $150-300 a person, the food and service is way beyond its value. I have recommended all of my friends and family to come eat here. Everyone has only praises about his place. I will add more photos later.

The deli scene in Hong Kong is next to zero, but Morty's is here to fill that void. This Wan Chai location is not really near the MTR. They're sandwiched in between Admiralty and Wan Chai but is most easily accessible from Hennessy Rd and up a couple of blocks onto Wing Fung St. The restaurant looks like a small diner on the beginning of an street incline. Parking is a near impossibility. It's a narrow, tight squeeze but they've still made room for all sorts of group action, including an outdoor table in their courtyard. Ventilation is quite good and there are TVs for watching sports on the inside. It's generally well lit and clean, which is sometimes all we can ask for. The food is not going to win awards from smoked meat purists, but it'll do the job. They offer a classic pastrami as well as a reuben and some interesting smoked meat burgers and a short rib sandwich that is supposedly cooked for 72 hours via sous vide. They also have a rare item in poutine (#1), which is true to form with cheese curds, a little pastrami, and topped off with homemade gravy. They also have hot dogs, specialty sandwiches (#3), salads, and they even a have plant based options. The latter includes a cubano, burgers, and a mushroom version of their popular reuben. I also appreciate that they care about their bread so much that they actually have ciabatta, baguette, rye, or even a bagel. I think I'm most impressed with their drink selection, which includes cocktails, wine, beer, and soda options. The bottomless iced lemon tee makes me chuckle, but I'm likely to shoot for their rootbeer float ($75HKD), which is totally alcoholic. Overall, I'm not mad at the food. It's smaller than I expected (#2). I find that $160-170HKD is a little pricey for their signature sandwiches, but I get that they're also gauging prices the way they are in North America. It had been so long since I had had a good burger and of one that reminded me of In-N-Out in California. Their burgers are really one of the best in Hong Kong and while is on the pricier side, is most definitely worth it. The ingredients making up the burger are especially fresh, from the beef patty, to the lettuce and onions. The cheese sauce on the fries was well seasoned (it wasn't just melted cheese) and the Apple pie iced tea was surprisingly refreshing and definitely suitable for the autumn season. The price of a standard burger on average will set you at least HK$100 alone, add some fries to share and a drink, and you're looking at a HK$200 meal easily. Not quite what some people might have in mind for "fast food". But a treat once in a while is well deserved. I can't wait to try the chili fries next time!

While the snail ragout was interesting and tasted good, it lacked presentation. The mains however were quite disappointing. The flank steak was rubbery and even after chewing for a while, I couldn't break apart any piece I painstakingly sawed off the main piece and basically swallowed them whole. Also, my companions' eggplants, while not tough like my steak, were unbelievably salty, such that my companions could not finish their eggplant dish at all. In addition, throughout this time, no one refilled my glass of water, and although I did enjoy the dessert, I noticed my napkin had been taken and I wasn't given a replacement, so I had nothing to wipe my mouth with while eating the dessert!
