Sam was very punctual, easy going, creative and perfected the shots he did. Sam worked with my two flower girls to get some super cute shots with them with my wedding dress and shoes while i was getting ready. He did great working with trying to get my 3 year old niece to participate in the photos. Sam hustled all day long with carrying all of his equipment and setting up flashbulbs for the reception. Sam and Filmman just accented each others amazing work and they always seemed to be on the same page which we totally appreciated. In 2010, I introduced my start-up company in Redwood City to Michael and his team to do an IoT video and they loved his work. The animation was pure genius and story line was so easy to comprehend. In 2014, I introduced my best friend, Cindy L, to Michael and his team, for her wedding, and she and her husband absolutely fell in love with Capture the Love photos and cinematography. Fast forward to 2016. When my NOW husband and I booked Nestldown for our wedding venue in 2016, I knew IMMEDIATELY who I would have as my photographer and cinematographer--the wonderful Capture the Love team!!! I did not even shop around. Right after we signed the contract with Nestldown, I immediately called Michael Soo and made sure we reserve him for Fall 2017 before another couple snatch him from us. Michael and his team come at a price, but you SERIOUSLY pay for what you get. I honestly don't know any team who work as fast as this team. We took our engagement photos and finished around 5pm and within 3 hours, we received sneak previews, and by 9pm, we received all our photos! We had our wedding on Saturday, which ended at 10pm, and by midnight, we received 2 sneak previews!!!! On Tuesday (yes less than 72 hours later), we received another 20 photos!!!! He informed us that all the photos will be ready by Friday afternoon (less than 7 days from our wedding!!) ! AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY, no one works this fast, except this fabulous team. I keep looking at the 20+ photos and I am still floating on cloud 9 and reliving every moment of our wedding day. On the day of our wedding, the team showed up early, which was SOOOO MUCH appreciative, so they could ensure they were able to capture every little minute detail. They always had a smile on their faces, even when they have to deal with crazy family members and vendors who get in the way of the shots. I looked in the corner of my eye and I was personally annoyed certain ppl/kids were in the shot, but the team was very professional and never yelled or had a frown on their faces. This definitely helps keep the bride calm. I never doubted this team and trusted them whenever they told us to go here and there, and do this and that pose. We first inquired back in 2025, and from our very first meeting Yang was prepared and professional, giving a breakdown of what working with him would be like. This included multiple checkpoint meetings leading up to the wedding, along with last-minute photo tips to remember the week before. He also showed that he likes to capture small moments that really convey the feeling of the day, which I loved. We ended up choosing an 8-hour package with a second photographer for the wedding day, along with an engagement session. For our engagement photoshoot, Yang was so helpful with posing us in a way that looked natural. We're not the most comfortable in front of a camera, but Yang is super experienced, and the engagement photos turned out better than we could've imagined. We used so many of these photos on signage and stationery for the wedding. By the time the wedding day rolled around, we felt so familiar with Yang from our multiple meetings and the engagement shoot that it felt like seeing an old friend again. Yang also has a great photographer network - our second photographer was Vivi Lin, who was fantastic and so sweet. It was a long and high-stress day, as weddings usually are, but Yang handled all of our requested shots seamlessly within our timeline. Within a week of the wedding, Yang shared beautiful previews and we were astounded! He delivered the full gallery within a month, which was incredibly quick given how many photos there were and that he had other weddings that same month. He has only grown in his craft and truly has a gift for making people feel comfortable in front of the camera. A couple of weeks before the wedding, we walked through a timeline of what we needed and Tam recommended that we tailor our package down from a 10 hour package to an 8 hour one since we wouldn't have getting ready photos, didn't have a bridal party, and opted to just dance the night away once 7 PM hit. I really appreciate that he doesn't shy away from making recommendations based on his experience and what your unique day will look like. The day of, Tam and the second photographer, Mike, were at the AirBnB early and helped my then fiance and I stage a first look photo. We also had an opportunity to take individual photos, photos with his family and also his college friends. Given how rainy the weather was that weekend, I was a little worried, but Tam and Mike were not deterred. They provided multiple options with attention and care paid to making sure my long dress stayed as clean as possible. I was also thankful that they directed us through poses because we definitely had no idea what we were doing, lol. After these initial photos, they met us at the church we were getting married at and took photos of the venue and of my side of the family. During our initial call, I asked Tam about his advice for how to not get our pastor in the first kiss frame. Tam remembered this conversation and made sure to note that to the pastor so that he would be able to get a clean photo. Group photos followed after the ceremony and then they headed to the venue to get cocktail hour shots. Since we didn't have a wedding party, a lot of things were candid. At one point I thought about greeting the tables during dinner but we ended up opting out. I later found out from our guests that Tam and Mike were really proactive and made sure to ask for group shots whenever they could. Before dancing started, Tam and Mike discussed pulling us aside at around 8 PM to head outside into the rain to get some nice photos with clear umbrellas and a strong flash. However, around 8 PM, there was no getting my now husband off the dance floor and we scrapped it. I really appreciate Tam and Mike's flexibility with us and ability to offer suggestions, but also respect how we were feeling at any given point. Before they left, Tam gave me an estimated date of when we'd get photos back which I really appreciated. From start to finish they were a real pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend Tam for weddings, family photos, glam shots, etc.
