During that visit, I saw a female dentist, and the experience was very positive. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and professional -- a great first impression. More recently, I returned due to pain in three teeth. They took bitewing X-rays and scheduled me for a follow-up appointment. Unfortunately, that's where things started to fall apart. Shortly after that visit, the office closed and is expected to remain closed until sometime in April -- leaving me dealing with ongoing tooth pain and no continuity of care. Because of that, I had to transfer my records and seek treatment elsewhere at Soling and Tate Dentistry just to address the issue. On top of that, my insurance claim for the visit was denied because River Lights Dental Care submitted the charges but failed to include the required supporting documentation -- no X-rays, no notes, nothing. That left me stuck in the middle trying to sort out a bill that shouldn't have been an issue in the first place. To make matters worse, the front desk staff had clearly changed since my initial visit, and the level of organization and follow-through was noticeably lacking. I was also billed $23 for the bitewing X-rays/visit despite the office closing and no treatment being completed. That didn't sit well. The dentist I saw during my most recent visit (who mentioned being from Indiana) came across as more business-focused than patient-focused. In hindsight, it raises concerns -- especially if there was any awareness that the office would be closing soon after scheduling follow-up care. I understand that things happen in business, but leaving patients in pain without support, combined with poor administrative handling of insurance and billing, is unacceptable. While my first visit was a great experience, the lack of follow-through, communication, and basic administrative competence ultimately outweighs the positives. I will be continuing my care elsewhere.

I didn't think he could be so personable and have beautiful work too. I was wrong. The root canal and building up of my tooth with filling was absolutely beautiful. When he gave me a numbing shot, I didn't even feel it. He talked to me throughout the procedure and he made sure I was ok, and not in any pain. I cant wait to see my smile when he is done. I have only had two appointments, but I did have a root canal, and I don't usually, if ever, do reviews, but I want anyone who NEEDS a GOOD dentist, for you or your child, anyone tired of being talked down to or hurt at the dentist, anyone who deals with major anxiety when going to the dentist, I want them to know that there IS a dentist in Wilmington, NC that can help you and the experience will NOT be awful, it will actually be a good one. Made an appointment due to a couple broken teeth and wanting to see what else needs to be done to get back on track with my oral health. Never even looked in my mouth on the first visit just x-ray and then said I need 3 teeth extracted. Made the appointment for the next week and that was a mistake. The office has too many things going on for just one "dr" I could hear the chaos in the background of him trying to direct all his employees while he was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. There was no one else in the room while he shattered my teeth and had to leave me with a mouth full of tooth particulates while he ran out to get more instruments. Totally unprofessional. He ended up breaking the upper tooth and leaving the rest in the socket without saying anything and caused extreme pain for a week until I could be seen at another dentist. They took more x-rays and confirmed that indeed the bottom of the tooth was still in the socket and sticking above gum line. The size of the tooth he then pulled was much larger than expected and what a relief it was to finally have it out. Highly recommend O2 Dental group!!! They were amazing and will return there. After discussing my situation, they made arrangements to provide a temporary fix that would get me to a wedding this week. She provided me with three options from the temporary fix that could last a week up to a year to a permanent fix. I chose the temporary with the expectation I will go back for the permanent implant.
