Made an appointment due to a couple broken teeth and wanting to see what else needs to be done to get back on track with my oral health. Never even looked in my mouth on the first visit just x-ray and then said I need 3 teeth extracted. Made the appointment for the next week and that was a mistake. The office has too many things going on for just one "dr" I could hear the chaos in the background of him trying to direct all his employees while he was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. There was no one else in the room while he shattered my teeth and had to leave me with a mouth full of tooth particulates while he ran out to get more instruments. Totally unprofessional. He ended up breaking the upper tooth and leaving the rest in the socket without saying anything and caused extreme pain for a week until I could be seen at another dentist. They took more x-rays and confirmed that indeed the bottom of the tooth was still in the socket and sticking above gum line. The size of the tooth he then pulled was much larger than expected and what a relief it was to finally have it out. Highly recommend O2 Dental group!!! They were amazing and will return there. DO NOT GO TO COASTAL SMILES PLEASE LISTEN TO ME AND SAVE YOURSELF THE PAIN

UPDATE: I previously left a positive review because I was encouraged by the changes at RiverLights…read moreDental following the problems the practice had under its previous dentist. Unfortunately, after my most recent experience, I will not be returning and I cannot recommend this practice. At my appointment, I was given an amount that I was told was my portion after insurance. I handed them my credit card, paid that amount, was given my card back and left with the clear impression that my balance for the visit had been taken care of. Several weeks later, I received another bill. I called the office and was told that one of my insurance companies ultimately did not pay its expected portion of the office visit. The additional amount was originally $50 and was subsequently adjusted to $26. The $26 isn't the issue. Had they told me at the appointment that another $26 was owed, I would have handed them my card and paid it without a second thought. The issue is telling a patient what his portion is, taking payment and presenting the transaction as complete, only to send another bill several weeks later. When I questioned how this had been handled, I was told that I "should have read the small print" stating that patients may be billed later. That response bothered me considerably more than the $26. Good customer service shouldn't require a patient to search the fine print for something that wasn't clearly communicated at checkout. All they needed to say was: "This is what your insurance companies are currently showing as your responsibility, but the claims haven't been finalized and you may receive an additional bill." I would have understood completely. Considering the circumstances, I also think a reasonable customer-service solution would have been: "We understand how this was presented to you. We'll write off the $26 this time, but going forward please understand that insurance adjustments can result in an additional balance." That would have resolved the matter for me. This is particularly disappointing given the problems this practice previously experienced under its former dentist. My understanding at the time was that patients had raised concerns about being told they needed extensive dental work that they believed was not immediately necessary. After the changes at the practice, I was willing to give RiverLights Dental another opportunity and initially felt encouraged by the new dentist. Unfortunately, I also had a small repair/filling placed on the backside of my left front tooth during this visit, and that repair has already come out. I can't speak to what happens with every patient, and I'm not going to speculate about why these decisions are being made. I can only judge the practice by my own experience. Between the failed repair, the way the billing was presented, and being told afterward that I should have read the small print, I've lost confidence in RiverLights Dental. I've decided to take my dental care elsewhere and would not recommend this practice based on my experience, maybe the work isn't guaranteed, and I should have read the small print on that too!

I told her the $99.00 cleaning and exam. She immediately said oh no I xant do that. You habe periodontal disease and one tooth had blood on it ( after they stuck the probe deep into my gum area in every tooth, .) You will need to have a deep scale cleaning for $1500. I told them I had that done one year ago. I wasnot having it again. Just wanted basuc cleaning. She got dentist. I explained to her and I felt I was deceived. No one ever told me this was one of the exclusions. This was a waste of my time. Whe. I WENT TO LEAVE THEY CHARGED ME $88.00. JUST LETTING YOU ALL KNOW BECAUSE THIS IS A CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH GAME THEY ARE PLAYING. BEWARE.
