Joel was very friendly, punctual, knowledgeable, and had a great selection of mattresses. With an hours notice, he was able to bring us to his warehouse and deliver the mattress the morning after communicating with him. I love the mattress that I purchased, and the other mattresses that he had were for all kinds of lifestyles and budgets. He also offers a five-year warranty for the mattress that we purchased. read more

I've dealt with Joel several times. Easy transactions and quick deliveries. Highly recommended.

Check out some mattresses and have an idea of what you'd like. Give John a call to schedule an appointment. Be told to meet him outside a storage facilities (at this point you may feel like you're about to enter a black trade, but you're not, and you're not about to be kidnapped). Be shown mattresses inside a storage unit. Try them out. See if they are to your liking. Talk prices with John. Close the transaction and he may even be able to have the mattress delivered the same day. We did! Yes, it is a strange way to purchase a mattress, but it's definitely a great price because he operates his business this way. His low overhead is the reason he's able to cut us a deal. John is super efficient and knowledgeable of his products. If you ever want to have a conversation about mattress hardness, springs, double and single coils, or whatnots, John's the man! Oh, there is a check-in deal for a second mattress if you're purchasing two. read more

Joel provided exceptional service and passed along the savings that he creates using his unique approach to the mattress business. Now if you need funny television commercials, high cost storefront retail locations and salespeople try to up sell and pressure you don't come here. If you want great prices, quick delivery and a straightforward approach to buying a mattress this is your place. We purchased a hybrid king mattress with adjustable remote controlled base and it's amazing. They delivered and set up the new bed, dismantled and took away the old frame/box springs/mattress. They even put on the mattress cover! Five Stars highly recommended read more

DO NOT PURCHASE your bed here if you have the money to buy elsewhere. We went in looking for a good cash price on a bed. We ended up liking a bed that was more than we wanted to spend - we were going to pay cash. But Joel said we could finance through the credit company he used and do a 90 day 0% interest. Then if we wanted to stretch it out we would just continue to make payments with interest after that. So, we opted for that so we didn't have to slap down $1000 plus tax in cash. Acima- the credit company does everything online & are super difficult to get in touch with. The payments come directly from your checking account but there is never any kind of statement to tell you what you owe, either emailed or on paper. We finally reached them in December to find out what our final balance was- this is after paying $200 per month- the 1st 90 days were no interest- for 4 months. They said we owed $1900!!! When we tried to get to the bottom of why this was the balance, we learned that this was a rent to own contract.... so there was never an option for us to have payed it in 90 days! We literally spoke to 3 different people before they could explain it to us clearly. We did not need to "rent to own". This place, Joel & Acima are running a scam. We are totally screwed now and have to continue to make these payments or... 1) Acima said they would repo our bed!! Or 2) our good credit would be ruined, or 3) both!!!! I do think we will report them to the BBB & the Attorney General, to see if there is any recourse for us. If you want to pay cash for an ok bed, then this might be the place for you. But don't get sucked into the up-sale or the financing. If u have decent credit go to Macy's - they have fabulous beds and great sales. We got suckered BIG TIME. Lesson learned. Never again! read more

PLEASE READ ALL THE REVIEWS ESPECIALLY THE NON POSITIVE ONES BEFORE SETTING UP AN APPOINTMENT TO VISIT HIS "SHOWROOM" IF YOU WRITE A NEGATIVE REVIEW, BE PREPARED FOR THREATENING OR EMOTIONAL MESSAGES LIKE THE BELOW:: Update 5/2/18: from Jen G::: " I hope you know that because of your review (and you didn't even actually purchase a mattress) his business has gone way down. He is forced to sell his house and now has cancer because he has lost so much business. You misunderstood John. I hope you are happy that you've accomplished practically putting a man out of business. We've discussed getting a lawyer and suing you for your review. I told him not worth the money and effort. We will let karma handle this one." If what Jen G says is true, (which I doubt it is, cancer is not caused because of stress), I wish John a speedy recovery. ORIGINAL REVIEW::: This is one instance where I wonder how the hell this guy has so many positive reviews. Or the reviews are written by his family/friends/fake accounts. We recently got a $1900 mattress for our master bedroom and were looking for a guest bedroom mattress and thought we could get something from a local dealer at a reasonable prices. Googled and found this guy. From the time we entered his warehouse, we felt rushed. He showed us two (2) mattresses and wanted us to decide right away. Within 1 minute of us looking at the two mattresses, John: "so what do you want to do?" Me: "we are thinking about it" John: "What's there to think, you either want it or don't" Very rude when asked about the flexibility on prices on the mattress. Next when my husband inquired about medium firm, he said "Indians generally don't buy it". My husband said "it's nothing to do with Indians, it depends on personal taste" Perhaps the experience is different, depending on your ethnicity We thanked him for his time and got a mattress from ikea Updating based on John W's comments: We didn't quote any price to him. We asked him what he could do on the price. To that the response was rude too. We wanted to support a local business. But, this is not a person who we could trust. We paid $200 more on a brand we trust. What's more he considers IKEA as his one of his competitors.. lol, what a joke!! DON'T GET FOOLED PEOPLE. Go to a better place and do business with ease. read more

These guys are so great you cannot find a better deal for an amazing mattress in here. Highly recommend highly highly highly. They really do have this year's miles at 75% off because their storefront does not cost them $30,000 and employ a half a dozen or more. Commission employees. We bought two mattresses and box springs mattress covers plus delivery less than $1500. Sleep amazing every night. read more

I bought their top-of-the-line memory foam mattress for over $1000. Within a month it was hollowed out in both sleep positions. It continued to get worse. We are not big people -- I weigh 155 pounds and my wife is much less. After 3 months, I contacted John and after a little time and hassle he said it must have been a defective unit and went through the motions of replacing the mattress. However the replacement mattress was already hollowed out just like mine!! -- I am certain he simply gave me somebody else's rejected mattress!! We used that mattress for almost a year until the dips became way too uncomfortable, like sleeping in a hole. I tried to contact John again to get my money back or some other solution, but he no longer responded to emails or phone calls. I don't know how this place gets good reviews. They must have somebody pulling strings to take down negative reviews. read more

I went to this place because of the great Yelp ratings. Happy to see those were deserved. It's not a typical store, but a showroom located at a large storage facility. I texted to make an appointment and communication was great. Not a huge selection, but decent options for budget to moderate quality at very low prices. Delivery was timely and felt very professional. I shopped for a week at about 5 stores and this one was by far the easiest and lowest pressure. read more

I ended up going with a bunk bed for my daughter and needed two twin mattresses. The mattresses were delivered with less than three hours notice. The measurements of the height of the mattresses were important to ensure the right fit, and I coordinated the fit with Joel over the phone. They measured perfectly! Delivery went smoothly. Joel was very conscientious and wore a face mask. read more

Dallas Discount Mattress is as good as it gets. I don't know how my life por la noche could get any sweeter. Yep, that's right. I have a giant king size bed, fit for a queen. After going to countless mattress stores, I finally took my search online and that's where I found Dallas Discount Mattress. Even though I'm in Miami they shipped my mattress and box spring to me and I still saved money! Double pillow top mattress (firm) with a 20 year warranty! I saved over $700 even with the shipping. John answered all of my questions over the phone and helped me figure out the best option for my sleep style. After placing my order, John told me that once the mattress arrived in Miami, I'd get a phone call to schedule delivery. Within 7 days I indeed got a phone call and they couldn't have been nicer and more professional. I'm not sure if this is standard, but the dude who delivered the bed helped lug it up the stairs (something I definitely couldn't have done without help). Once the kids come I'll definitely be getting a nice twin set! Here's to being not sleepless in Miami ;) read more

Great place. Please note that the location of this is in a gated area that is a storage locker park. You need to call the guy 10 minutes or so ahead of time so John the owner can get there and let you in. He is super nice and helpful. He was so kind to even deliver same day late on new years eve since we didn't have a spec of furniture in our newly rented house and needed a place to sleep. Their prices are less than half of what you pay at other mattress joints. I am so glad I found this place on yelp and all the great reviews he has received. If you are in need of a bed, call here first. Our new bed is like sleeping on a cloud. read more

We found this place on Yelp and were impressed with the great reviews. We met at the storage unit and tried out the different beds and found the one we liked. We had delayed buying a new mattress due to cost and Discount Mattress made it possible. Our backs are loving us! His set up is non-traditional but with the low overhead he is able to extend the savings to us. He was great to work with and met with us quickly. Don't pay big store prices! Go to Discount Mattress! read more

My husband and I were in the market for a new mattress after getting backaches from the one I've had for 20 years. I know, horrible to keep it that long! John met us at the storage unit and was able to recommend 4 models of firm mattresses, and we got to lay on each. He really knows his stuff and I love that it was so easy and quick to be able to pick out a mattress at a DEEP discount! I also can't believe I left my wallet at home, but he told me that I could pay by check when it was delivered later that day. Delivery was just as he said, between 4-7 PM. We were so excited and the mattress is just as comfortable as we thought it would be. We immediately took a nap on it after setting it up. Thank you, John! read more

I WON a mattress set via the Dallas Discount Mattress. Seriously, check out their facebook page, they seem to always have a giveaway running. Once someone wins, it's onto the next contest. Since it was a contest, I did not go to pick one out, just called and set up delivery. They were nice to deal with and willing to wait a few days to deliver since I work weird days. He offered to deliver on a Saturday, so that's good for people with normal work hours! Came right on time and offloaded it quickly and included all the info and warranty paperwork. Just wish they could've taken the old one as an extra mattress set takes up a lot of room in a small apartment, but luckily only had to wait a week for Salvation Army to come. But, for free, definitely do not complain at all. It's been a couple months and my back is so thankful for the new mattress. Have shared their link with many friends! read more

Wow, what amazing service I received from John!!! I was skeptical at first being this the first time I've ever really bought a mattress for myself I've always just had what was given to me. The warehouse/storage facility was very clean and was a lot like a mini showroom. John helped me pick the perfect mattress based on what I sleep on right now. If you're looking for great quality mattresses at a fair price then this is definitely the place to go. I'll never pay the ridiculous amounts others sell theirs for. Now for the furniture and delivery guys, Chris and Kolton. Amazing! These guys were super sweet! They did keep me waiting a long time for my delivery but I do understand with it being the holiday season and everything. They were fast and efficient with setting up my furniture and made sure they did everything properly, I'll definitely be buying more from these guys too! Thank you to all three of you for helping me find the perfect bed for me and my family! read more

I hate shopping and I especially hate mattress shopping. Ideally for me, every shopping trip would take 5-10 minutes and not a second more. And that's why I loved Dallas Discount Mattress. No joke, my entire experience here lasted less than ten minutes. It was amazing! I just drove up to the storage facility (after having made an appointment, which was super-simple; the owner encourages same-day appointments, says that all he needs is about twenty minutes notice), met the owner, told him what size mattress I was looking for and what I wanted to spend. He showed me two models that fit my needs. I briefly tried out both of them and instantly knew which one I liked best. A minute later, I was paying a ridiculously low price for a pretty nice new mattress set, while it was being loaded onto my borrowed F-150. A minute after that, I was giving the owner my contact information for the warranty. A minute after THAT, I was driving out the gate with my new mattress. I've had trips to 7-11 for a Snickers bar take longer than this. It's the ultimate in no-fuss mattress shopping. The owner didn't try to upsell me on anything. I didn't have to wait twenty minutes for the crew to pull the order. I was in and out in about the same time it takes to listen "Hey Jude" by The Beatles. I'm impressed. And I even like the mattress. read more

After spending 15 minutes with Joel and price matching with nearby mattresses stores, I knew that this was the place to get my next bed. The prices were extremely reasonable and beat the competition by a mile. I've been sleeping on an air mattress for the past 6 months and this has been one of the greatest investment I've made in a while. Upstanding service, outstanding prices. read more

Joel helped us get the perfect mattress for our guest room at the prefect price. Awesome experience!

So.... being a professional "bargain hunter", I was very skeptical of what I would be getting here. Well, I am happy to say that my skepticism was very short-lived because John really was as nice and efficient as everyone has been saying on Yelp! :-) I went to buy one queen mattress set for my nanny, and ended up getting a 2nd king-size mattress for my husband and I, too (which we really needed, but had been putting off because we just didn't want to spend $4000 on a new mattress!). They will be delivering both new mattresses tomorrow, and we are very excited! HIGHLY recommend buying from John and Dallas Discount Mattress (unless you are extremely high-maintenance and just can't feel good about a purchase unless you've overpaid for something-- in that case, you should probably go to one of the big mattress stores!)..... otherwise, you can't wrong here! read more

In need of a new mattress at a great price, I hit up Yelp and lo and behold there was DDM which ended up being a stone's throw away. I called that day, met John that day, bought a mattress that day and it was delivered that day. That alone is hard to beat. Wow! I must say I was thrown aback when I ended up rolling up to The Attic but once you get inside it's actually a nice showroom that gets the job done. Innovative even. His overhead is so low that he passes it on to his customers through his pricing. I really appreciated his 30 day guarantee. It made me feel more comfortable with my purchase. It ended up coming in handy. I had to switch to a firmer mattress so I just called, met John up in the showroom again and settled on one and it was delivered the next week. My only qualms were that 1.) John only takes cash or check and 2.) That the guys wouldn't take my old mattress away. They should reconsider that policy. Thankfully I had movers at the same time but if I didn't I would have been sol for a while. My back is jacked up so I would not have been able to do anything. I still feel that I was treated well by both John and Colton and the other gentleman. And I got a quality product at a very fair price. Would definitely recommend. read more

We needed a full size mattress for our daughters room. She wanted something really comfy (ok, squishy was her exact word) Anyway, we shopped at Freed's and two other nearby furniture stores before calling John to just see what he might have. So glad we saved him as the last stop. He had one full size pillow top mattress left and it was much better quality than what we had seen earlier. We bought her a mattress at a really fair price and it was delivered that same afternoon. His delivery guy even gave us a courtesy call 30 mins. before arriving to let us know he was on the way. How nice! And, by the way, she says this is the most comfortable bed she has ever slept on. read more

Great price for quality beds. When you are thinking how can John sell beds so cheap? NO OVERHEAD. No fancy store front, no wasted money. You call John, he meets you where he stores the samples. You cannot beat the prices. He delivers next day for very cheap. And to top it all you can try mattress for 30 days if you do not like it he will change it to one better suits you. NOONE DOES THIS! How do I begin? I read the reviews a year ago about John and was waiting until I was in the market for a mattress. My son came to me and said he needed a new bed and I knew right where we were going! I wasn't sure of the process but my son called and John told him to just call when he was near. We found the place easily and made the phone call. John came and let us in the gate. After very pleasant introductions, we walked into a small showroom that was surprisingly well set up. I imagined stacks of mattresses in a dark unit. Not so. We quickly found what we were looking for with zero pressure. Can I tell you how much a relief that was? My son is 19 and just moved in an apartment. He wanted a quality bed that was comfortable that fit his $10 an hour wage. He ended up within his budget with a better mattress set than he had even hoped for. I'm not sure I should mention the extra that John also helped us out with since he normally doesn't offer that, but I will say that he went out of his way to help us, even when he didn't have to. This is another area that is normally lacking in furniture stores that we had here. I also found out there had been a law passed that said you cannot drive with mattresses on the top of your car on major highways. This was passed after a fatal accident involved this type of scenario. This was good to know since we were planning just that. I wouldn't have liked a couple hundred dollar fine for that! We arranged for delivery. It was one of the easiest, painless and positive furniture shopping experiences I have had. I will be a repeat customer (as will my boys) as long as we are living in the DFW area! A+ for price, service and experience! read more

Purchased a queen and King size mattress in 2015 from John, and couldn't be more happy. We got the mattresses delivered on the specific agreed time frame of 3 days. Both John and his delivery team were extremely patient in explaining differences between each mattress and what makes them different based on various price points. I referred John's business to my Director, which in turn he was very happy with the purchase (he went with the lower price point mattress; however, that was exactly what he needed). I am writing the review 18 months later, since , we are purchasing another queen size mattress for my Mom. Totally an amazing experience !! I am new to Dallas and was shopping around for a reasonable mattress. If you're hesitant to check out this showroom because it's at a storage facility, don't be!! Before finding this place, I was debating on ordering a mattress off Amazon but I was torn because I really like the idea of laying down on a mattress before buying. I'm so glad I decided to stop by here. I had a pretty tight budget going in and I couldn't believe that the top of the line king mattress that I decided on was even less than my budget! I'm a huge fan of bare bones selling. I don't need the bells, whistles and a bunch of fluff when I need to make a simple purchase. This is exactly what I received here.
