We got a software rendering of what the lawn would look like before the work started. After the work was done, Mr. Mariano also gave us some advice on lighting. They do our weekly lawn maintenance as well, which is also timely, professional and reasonably priced.

I am saddened to have to leave this review, but others should be aware of Michael Mariano's…read morebusiness practices. He started out as a decent lawn maintenance person. Spring clean up was usually sufficient, and mowing every two weeks was ok. I understand his prices are on the low side, and so I figured I pay for what I get. At the very beginning, I explained that all leaves needed to be blown to the front of my property - at the curb but not in the street. They get picked up by the town, which has simple rules. He did that for the most part, but every once in a while I noticed he blew the leaves to the back of my property, where they would never get picked up. Sometimes he denied it, and sometimes the excuse would be that they were too wet to blow to the front. (Every other landscaper did it properly - why couldn't he?) This last time, he blew all of the leaves in the back of my house to the back of the property. When I emailed him to tell him it needs to be blown to the front, he said it was NJ Transit's trees, so their leaves, so that's why he blew them onto their property. I was speechless. That response was absurd. Considering I have a huge, 80+ year old tree in the back of my house, his response was beyond ridiculous. (I was actually hoping he just had a bad day, and would re-think his response, and take care of the leaves, but that didn't happen. That's really why I waited so long to write this review - I wanted to give him an opportunity to make things right.) He also never bothered removing the branches that fell before and/or during the season. I actually had to gather them up myself and move them to the front of my property. I asked him to remove them at that point - and he said he would. Instead of removing them, he buried them under the leaves he blew to the front of my property. I didn't even realize that until they (Chatham Boro) came to remove the leaves, and discovered the branches. They got pissed off (rightly so) and tossed them all over my lawn. I emailed Michael and told him what happened, and once again I asked him to pick them up - and he said he would. He never showed up, and I had to arrange to have them removed. Now, the leaves he blew onto the back of my property are all over my property as well as my neighbors properties. It looks like it was never even done! If I am asked to clean up the mess, I will be taking Mariano Landscaping to small claims court to recoup my expenses. There were other issues, but these were the most blatant issues. I highly recommend that you spend a little more for someone who is ethical, honest, responsible and reliable with at least an inkling of common sense.

This is something that was specifically excluded from the contract. When they did the clean-up, they ended up blowing away all the mulch we had carefully put down. In subsequent phone calls and emails we tried to rectify this because the invoice they presented included this work. It also included an amount for lawn-mowing on a particular day which, in fact, had not been done. Sadly, this turned into some ugly phone calls in which my husband was insulted by the owner of the company. We were shocked by this behavior. We have therefore decided to terminate our services with the company.

I reached out to Todd and his team to help install landscape lighting on the front of my property…read more Todd came out, did an assessment of the property and within one day I had a quote that was approved. The work I needed was a bit complicated, because I needed to retrofit a new LED system onto existing wiring, that ran all throughout existing hardscape and had been cut / not visible in many areas. This was no challenge for Todd and his team, however, and they were able to trace all the existing wiring and plan out the new layout. On top of everything, Todd suggested we move the existing transformer to the complete opposite side of my house, where other utilities sit, so that I don't have an eyesore in my driveway. He provided me several options for lighting and everything was installed quickly and professionally. I'm very happy with the finished product and the level of service / communication from Todd and his team. Oh and btw...when a few weeks after install, my kids kicked and broke one of the lights...Todd came out and replaced it free of charge. What a legend! Thanks Todd looking forward to working with you in the future on my backyard!

I wanted to share a contractor recommendation with my neighbors because I know how difficult it can…read morebe to find someone you can genuinely trust with work on your home. I've been working with Diego Enriquez for about three years now, and I just recently completed my fourth project with him. This most recent project was having stone installed along the bottom of my house, and once again, I couldn't be happier with the finished product. What I really appreciate about Diego is that he is meticulous about his work. He doesn't just come in, do the job, and leave. He takes the time to understand what you want, your personal style, and what you're trying to accomplish. He then makes sure his team understands those expectations and actually delivers the finished product accordingly. He is also very hands-on. He is on site, supervises his workers, checks the quality of the work, and makes sure everything is done properly. My recent project was completed in just three days, and the attention to detail was still there from beginning to end. Most importantly, I've found Diego to be honest, genuine, and fair. That's not always easy to find when hiring contractors. I've never felt like he was trying to upsell me, take advantage of me, or cut corners just to get the job done. His focus is on doing quality work and making sure his customer is happy with the result. He is also reasonably priced, which I really appreciate. I'm sharing his name because I genuinely believe good contractors are worth recommending when you find them. I've used Diego for four projects now, I've been very happy with his work every time, and I absolutely plan to continue working with him on future projects. If anyone in the neighborhood is looking for a contractor who is reliable, detail-oriented, honest, reasonably priced, and genuinely cares about the quality of his work, I would definitely recommend reaching out to Diego Enriquez.

Diego and his crew worked SO HARD. Our project was done in July 2025 and it was so hot out, but Diego and his guys wanted to finish our project for us before the summer ended. Diego was always communicative, kind, professional, knowledgable, and such a pleasure to work with. He worked with us on our budget, gave us multiple options, and made the best recommendations. We're so grateful for Diego and his crews time and hard work! We even asked him for another smaller project and he completely delivered on that as well. He even fixed our fence door for us while he was at it. We'll be seeing if Diego is available on all our future projects! Many thanks to Diego and his crew.
