During one of the hardest periods of my life, I constantly felt unheard, dismissed, intimidated, and spoken down to instead of supported and advocated for. I hired this attorney hoping to feel protected, guided, and represented, but instead I often felt pressured and emotionally drained throughout the process. The communication frequently came across as aggressive, condescending, and at times outright bullying rather than professional or compassionate. Instead of feeling like my attorney was fighting for me, I often felt like I had to defend myself to my own attorney while already dealing with the stress of a divorce. After I voiced concerns regarding billing and the direction of my case, the firm withdrew from representing me before my divorce was finalized, leaving me to go to court alone without legal representation after I had trusted them to handle one of the most important situations of my life. Being left high and dry like that was devastating and incredibly overwhelming. What makes this even more upsetting is that despite withdrawing from my case, there is still a lien on my property for $2,364.08, and on May 22, 2026, I discovered an additional $2,500 had been withdrawn from my bank account without my authorization. No client going through a divorce should feel bullied, unsupported, financially pressured, or abandoned by the very person they hired to advocate for them. He refused to follow directions and became irate when he didn't get his way. He was late with billing and allowed it to pile up over months, so it was difficult to sort through and understand. Even after getting paid tens of thousands of dollars on time, he demanded an outrageously high retainer and threatened to quit if I didn't make a payment within HOURS - even though I had always paid him in a timely fashion after being invoiced. I believe McLeod exerted this despicable duress tactic to extort a high retainer payment just before trial because he assumed I had no choice but to pay him. He seemed determined to run me through an expensive trial instead of easily completing the small remainder of the case through mediation as I repeatedly requested. McLeod quit on my case just days before the trial because I asked to give phone mediation just one more day before fully committing to trial and he refused. I felt McLeod was very unprofessional and cold. I felt he wasn't on my side and didn't care about me. It seemed he just wanted to get paid as much as he could as fast as he could. Fortunately, I found another attorney on the short notice who won my case and at a fraction of the cost. The last thing you need to happen to you while going through an already stressful case is for your attorney to not respect your wishes, shake you down for money, and/or quit on you just before a trial. Then a month later, McLeod sued me for services I told him not to perform yet. I suggest you find someone else more trustworthy, dependable, understanding, compassionate, and respectful towards their clients.

And then proceeds to tell me that in order for me to not receive any points at all is unheard of. Mind you for as long as Mr. Millikan has been practicing law you would think that he would know this information as well before giving me false hope. Mr. Millikan then tells me "well at least you didn't have to come to court", and that he didn't know how much over the speed limit I was going when he gave me that false hope. I guess he forgot that I told him this information during our initial consultation as it was the most important part. AND emailed him a copy of my ticket.SMH. So Hundreds of dollars later when I could have just paid the ticket without going to court in the first place AND kept my money I got 1 point removed and I still have to pay the total cost of the ticket.
