Montessori School of Brentwood

Absolutely Exceptional - More Than Just a School…read more Year after year, this Montessori school continues to amaze our family. It is rare to find a place that balances rigorous academic excellence with such a genuine focus on character development and respect. We have watched our youngest (now 4) blossom here over the last two years. The growth in his education level is nothing short of outstanding--he is learning concepts I wouldn't have expected at his age, yet he is doing it with joy and curiosity. But beyond the academics, what impresses me most is the school's commitment to constantly bringing in new activities and enhancing the learning environment. They never settle; they are always finding ways to be better. A few amazing days of the year for you and the family: All the Holidays - The school ensures we celebrate holidays from across all cultures and life. Fathers' Night: An amazing way to connect their children with their fathers. One of the best moments I look forward to every year. I Mother Tea Time: Another amazing experience for the children to spend some quality academic and fun time with their moms. This standard of excellence isn't limited to just one teacher; it is consistent across the board. Every staff member, at every level, cares deeply about these children. If you are looking for a place that will truly invest in your child's future, this is it. We couldn't be happier.

Would give more stars if I could!…read more My son has been going to Kiddie Academy since 2020, and we've had a wonderful experience. One of the biggest reasons is the excellent learning curriculum, the care and attentiveness of the teachers and staff, and the fact that both my kids love going there, learn so much, and truly enjoy their time. We always feel that they're safe and well cared for. My son is especially fond of Miss Alina -- she's been so kind, caring, and supportive throughout his time there. When it was time for him to leave for kindergarten, he was genuinely sad because Miss Alina was his favorite. Kiddie Academy has been a consistent, nurturing place for my family, and I'm so grateful for the amazing staff who make it feel like a second home. Highly recommend!

My son used to attend another daycare in Mountain View, which we all absolutely loved, but we had…read moreto leave due to relocating. He started at Kiddie Academy Brentwood when he turned four and attended for about five months. His teacher was Ms. Alaina. Pros * You need your own login to enter the school. * All food is provided (though it's not exactly "free," considering we were paying almost $100 a day). * At drop-off, all the teachers would always say good morning to my son. I honestly wished one of those teachers had been his teacher. * My son loved playing with his friends and formed very close bonds with a few of the kids. * He learned how to write most letters and started learning addition. Cons * My son often seemed sad in the mornings when I helped him put his shoes on. He asked for "only easy shoes" because during nap time, they take their shoes off, and Ms. Alaina would refuse to help him put them back on. My son words were "Ms. Alaina said to put them on myself and doesn't want to help me". What parent would have enjoyed listening to that? So then I asked him more questions about this and he said his friend would help him put his shoes on. This made me want to cry because how sweet of his friend to try to help. From there on out, my son only took "easy shoes" (shoes with no shoelaces). Another time, I picked him up and his shoelaces were completely untied. He was literally dragging his feet. I asked the teacher to help him next time, and she said she hadn't noticed. It's hard to believe a child dragging his feet could go unnoticed. * They have a parent app, but the teacher wouldn't update it until the end of the day, which defeated the purpose of wanting updates while I was away at work. * Ms. Alaina had Trump stickers all over her water bottle. (I guess this might be a pro for Trump supporters.) Regardless of political affiliation, a teacher should never display political messaging in the classroom. One time, my son saw a picture of Trump and said with excitement, "It's the guy from school." Why are they talking about Trump at school? * At pick-up, Ms. Alaina never gave me updates on how my son's day went. His previous school always did, so maybe it's just not standard practice here? * One time I picked him up and he had red all over his face. I panicked, thinking it was a nosebleed, but Ms. Alaina said it was frosting from cupcakes they had during snack time. Snack time is at 3pm and I picked him up at 5pm, you would've thought between those two hours she could've told him to go wipe his face. It's literally common sense to wipe a child's messy face. * The classroom had a 1:12 teacher-to-student ratio. For the amount of money parents are paying, I feel that the school could have added another teacher. I guess that helps explain why Ms. Alaina wasn't as attentive as I had hoped. * Again, Ms. Alaina being a Trump supporter. Imagine supporting a president who has openly discussed dismantling parts of the education system while working as a teacher? Make it make sense. Overall, these are the reasons why I feel this school deserves only two stars. Maybe it would have been more if my son's teacher had been kinder and more nurturing.

All of the teachers are warm, kind, and work so well with the kids. Our son thrives with the flexibility of open play and structured group activities. As first-time parents, it was definitely a difficult and emotional situation to navigate. There was a period when we truly felt that Jermanee was being targeted because she is African American. She was frequently coming home with "ouch reports" after being hit at school, which became very concerning for us. Eventually, Jermanee began defending herself, and it then seemed like she was being viewed as the aggressor. It is such an important and emotional stage in a child's life because they are still learning how to communicate, express emotions, and respond to conflict. Navigating those situations as first-time parents was not easy. However, after we shared our concerns and had open conversations with the staff, things began to improve significantly. Mrs. Cani truly helped turn our experience around. She listened to our concerns, showed compassion, and helped create an environment where Jermanee felt supported and cared for. Mrs. Michelle also made a tremendous impact on Jermanee. Over time, we could clearly see that her teachers genuinely cared about her and wanted the best for her. We also absolutely love the events they host. Pizza Night was amazing, and we appreciate how they go out of their way to honor mothers and fathers through special events and family breakfasts. The picture updates throughout the day are also a wonderful touch because they allow parents to see their child smiling, learning, and enjoying their day. Now, Jermanee gives her teachers hugs before she leaves every day, which says a lot. While our journey was not perfect, we truly appreciate the staff members who helped create a more positive, loving, and supportive experience for our daughter and our family.

The classrooms are beautifully organized, calm, and filled with engaging materials that spark curiosity and independence. With the Playground app, teachers and parents can communicate and receive regular updates about my child's day. The sense of community is strong, and we always feel welcomed and supported. If you're looking for a nurturing, inspiring place where children learn through hands-on experience and develop a lifelong love of learning, I highly recommend Dainty.

I was nervous about switching things up on a two-year-old, but the moment we toured with Ms. Deb, I felt so much better. She's the director, and her cheerful, positive vibe is something the kids really pick up on. She made both our daughter and us feel totally at ease right away. To my surprise--and honestly, my immense gratitude--our daughter has never cried at drop-off at Dainty. The only tears we see are tiny pouts at pick-up because she doesn't want to leave. She truly never wants to miss a day. She started at 2.5 in the Butterfly room with Ms. Cindy and Ms. Ghazal, who were both amazing and taught her so much. The environment is safe, friendly, and full of teachers who leave the kind of impression that sticks with a child for life. We had a few little transition hiccups early on, but Ms. Deb handled everything quickly and thoughtfully. Now my daughter is with Ms. Alyssa and comes home excited to share whatever new thing she learned that day. The teachers all support each other, too, and she has a great connection with Ms. Liiana, who teaches the next age group up. Whenever someone hears that my three-year-old is "in school," they assume it's just a daycare. But Dainty is so much more than that--it's a truly remarkable school with an incredible staff. They put so much time and effort into every event and holiday. The kids have a blast, and honestly, so do the parents.

She is such a blessing and wonderful with the kids! They have so much fun together and it shines through daily. From the nutritious meals she prepares to the arts and crafts that Jude brings home daily, it's all part of what is helping my son grow and blossom into a confident toddler. I was so worried when we began looking for full time care last year that we wouldn't find anything centrally located, affordable and a good fit for our family.
