Montessori School of Brentwood

Montessori School of Brentwood

Absolutely Exceptional - More Than Just a School…read more Year after year, this Montessori school continues to amaze our family. It is rare to find a place that balances rigorous academic excellence with such a genuine focus on character development and respect. We have watched our youngest (now 4) blossom here over the last two years. The growth in his education level is nothing short of outstanding--he is learning concepts I wouldn't have expected at his age, yet he is doing it with joy and curiosity. But beyond the academics, what impresses me most is the school's commitment to constantly bringing in new activities and enhancing the learning environment. They never settle; they are always finding ways to be better. A few amazing days of the year for you and the family: All the Holidays - The school ensures we celebrate holidays from across all cultures and life. Fathers' Night: An amazing way to connect their children with their fathers. One of the best moments I look forward to every year. I Mother Tea Time: Another amazing experience for the children to spend some quality academic and fun time with their moms. This standard of excellence isn't limited to just one teacher; it is consistent across the board. Every staff member, at every level, cares deeply about these children. If you are looking for a place that will truly invest in your child's future, this is it. We couldn't be happier.

Learning Through Play Family Day Care

We toured a LOT of daycares for our then 1 year old to attend, but never found exactly what we were…read morelooking for until we came across Learning Through Play. Patty and her family are amazing caretakers! We always felt very comforted knowing that our son was getting great care, having lots of fun, and learning too. His vocabulary has blossomed in a big way since he started. He always comes home with a big smile and a fresh hairdo :) thank you Patty and Alma!

My two kids started attending daycare with Ms. Patty in September 2019. We had reached out to a few…read moredifferent daycares in Brentwood and were nervous about putting our kids in full time care with someone we didn't know, especially after visiting a few facilities in the area and just not feeling 100% comfortable (nothing bad, just not the vibe we were hoping for). I am SO grateful that we found Ms. Patty and Ms. Alma!! Enrollment was a smooth process and it didn't take my kids long to warm up to everyone. They truly provide the most loving, nurturing, and wholesome environment for the kids and it is EXACTLY what I had hoped for when looking for care. Patty keeps them on a schedule and always has fun things planned for them and my kids absolutely love it there. She also provides healthy (and homemade!) meals and snacks which saves me so much time in the mornings. She keeps her home very clean, organized, and safe for the kids. I am always blown away by the things they learn from Patty and Alma - not just educational things (which are AMAZING - Patty does Circle Time and my kids absolutely love it and learn SO much!!) but also things like life skills and manners and how to be kind to one another. My daughter has some neurological issues that can make her a bit of a challenge from time to time - I've always felt extremely comfortable with how Patty handles my daughter and her special needs. She is gentle and patient with her and it really shows. I've also been very impressed with how Patty has handled the pandemic from a business perspective - she keeps us informed of changes policies and state guidelines, and it's just been nice to have consistency for my kids during these times. She's been incredibly reliable and that's something that is important to me (especially when it comes to my children). Sadly, we will be moving away from the area soon and the hardest part of our move is not being able to send our kids to Patty and Alma's every day. They have such a positive impact on our children, and are truly like family to them. We will miss them ALL - their whole family and all of the kids - SO much! I could go on and on - but really, if you're in the Brentwood area looking for home-based childcare, please do yourself a favor and give Patty a call. She's amazing!!!

Our family LOVES Sunshine House on Walnut! We started our son there right when he turned 2 years…read moreold and have been so happy with their care for over a year now. All of the teachers are warm, kind, and work so well with the kids. Our son thrives with the flexibility of open play and structured group activities. I also love how they keep us updated throughout the day with photos and messages. They are also really supportive with potty training, so it makes that transition less stressful. Thank you so much Sunshine House B2, for being such an important extension of our family.

As first-time parents, it was definitely a difficult and emotional situation to navigate. There was a period when we truly felt that Jermanee was being targeted because she is African American. She was frequently coming home with "ouch reports" after being hit at school, which became very concerning for us. Eventually, Jermanee began defending herself, and it then seemed like she was being viewed as the aggressor. It is such an important and emotional stage in a child's life because they are still learning how to communicate, express emotions, and respond to conflict. Navigating those situations as first-time parents was not easy. However, after we shared our concerns and had open conversations with the staff, things began to improve significantly. Mrs. Cani truly helped turn our experience around. She listened to our concerns, showed compassion, and helped create an environment where Jermanee felt supported and cared for. Mrs. Michelle also made a tremendous impact on Jermanee. Over time, we could clearly see that her teachers genuinely cared about her and wanted the best for her. We also absolutely love the events they host. Pizza Night was amazing, and we appreciate how they go out of their way to honor mothers and fathers through special events and family breakfasts. The picture updates throughout the day are also a wonderful touch because they allow parents to see their child smiling, learning, and enjoying their day. Now, Jermanee gives her teachers hugs before she leaves every day, which says a lot. While our journey was not perfect, we truly appreciate the staff members who helped create a more positive, loving, and supportive experience for our daughter and our family.

Here we are 9 months later and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jayme and the amazing way she cares for our son. Every day that I have to leave him and head into work, my heart breaks just a little, but it is such a relief to know that he is spending time with Jayme and the other children. She is such a blessing and wonderful with the kids! They have so much fun together and it shines through daily. From the nutritious meals she prepares to the arts and crafts that Jude brings home daily, it's all part of what is helping my son grow and blossom into a confident toddler. I was so worried when we began looking for full time care last year that we wouldn't find anything centrally located, affordable and a good fit for our family. Settling was just not an option for us- as I'm sure all parents want the best for their children and expect to be able to find it. We know we are so lucky to have found Jayme. This family daycare is so much more than that and I'm so happy and proud to share how wonderful she truly is!

I want to be very honest with our feedback for the benefit of moms/dads that would come across this…read moreYelp page as we also relied on reviews when we were looking for a daycare 8 months ago. Teacher Sheila runs this place and she is truly exceptional. She's very organized, patient and attentive. You could also tell that she is compliant to the state regulations and makes sure her staff is vetted, which puts our minds at ease. They all seem to be very nurturing and genuinely care about the kids' individual needs. When my daughter was new, they gave her enough time until she was fully adjusted to their structure. When we had a baby back in November and my toddler started acting out --- they were extra patient with her, held her when she cried until she was back to her normal bubbly self. When another kid was acting out and accidentally scratched our daughter's face, she informed us immediately and provided the necessary care for our daughter. The facility is always clean with appropriate safety measures. They do a lot of engaging, age-appropriate activities for the kids, with time indoors (storytime, crats, etc) and outdoors too (outside play) when the weather permits. Teacher Sheila maintains good communication with the parents, consistently providing updates and sending pictures around afternoon. When I pick up my daughter, she seems to be always happy, showing us whatever art work they did for the day. Meals and learning materials are all provided for, that truly makes it convenient for us busy parents. This is my child's second daycare and we feel that our child is getting high quality care from Teacher Sheila, Ms. Faye and Ms. Susan. The only con I could think of, and this is very minor, is there is a bit of a wait time when parents ring the door to pick up the kids. I hope they will let the parents in first before prepping the kids so we don't have to wait outside in the cold or the hot summer sun :) Overall, we have a very positive experience and we highly recommend this daycare. I would give them 10 stars if we could.

Ms. Sheila along with Ms. Susan and Ms. Faye were so wonderful not only to my little boy Atlas but to all the kids that were under their care. Ms. Sheila's communication is excellent and the bond that she and Atlas developed is unremarkable. This was Atlas's first time in daycare and we thought he would hate it but he LOVED it. With Ms. Sheila's attentive care and lessons that she shared with Atlas and the kids, he would also share it with us at home. To Ms. Sheila, Atlas always brings up his memories with you and always tells us that you're his favorite teacher! Thank you so much again!
