I got some holiday bags here, which were nice and different from what they had next door at Ross and TJMaxx. Lip balms and chapsticks were about the same as grocery store prices. They had tons of phone cases and accessories for the iPhones and a few Samsungs as well as universal covers. They had a good selection of board games so I picked up one of those for game nights. All in all a decent experience though the deals aren't as good as I expected they'd be. Return policy is tight at 2 weeks with a receipt.

Barnes & Noble has books of all kinds, but it also has so much more than books! I saw at display of Lego sets that become floral bouquets, bonsai trees, and other amazing things. They sell vinyl records, DVDs, gifts, and toys. They have a coffee shop, a place for classes and community events. Their children's space is wonderfully decorated and looked like a great place to take children or grandchildren. The displays were well organized according to category - everything from fiction to philosophy, devotionals, science, and much, much more. Since I have a stack of books I'm already working on, I didn't take the time to find another one to add to it - though, considering their selection, I'm sure I would have found several. I made my way to the check out and presented my receipt for the book I purchased online, and they had it waiting for me. The young man at the counter was courteous and efficient. I intend to return when I have more time to browse and perhaps enjoy a coffee too.

Gasoline prices are always the lowest. ...though there is often a line. Prices and service for tires is also excellent at Sam's. Meat, frozen foods, canned foods, and even produce prices are great. You just need to plan because you'll be buying in larger containers or in bulk. Even just purchasing for one small family the savings can add up. Then there's the household and garden items, even furniture... Towels, linens, dishes, small kitchen appliances, rugs, pharmacy, glasses and vision items, the list is long. Do I find everything I need here? No. I still need to go to HEB or Walmart to finish off my list. I've been told their major competitor has some advantages, so I went with my son. I didn't see a convincing reason to switch over. Sam's also has another location on 10th Street which is closer to where I live - where I usually go. I went to this Sam's because they carry a particular product I needed to take to my sister in North Texas. I have consistently had a positive experience here. My only suggestion for improvement is more lanes open for faster checkout.

It used to have long lines and…read morethe self checkout options were getting packed too, defeating the purpose of a speedy buy and run. However, one thing has redeemed my now frequent visits. This is the SAMs Scan and Go app, available in your iPhone/Android devices. The only reason why I have a SAMs card is because I am a teacher. I sometimes need to buy things in bulk as incentives for my students. However, the items I buy are rarely more than 10 items combined, and I know specifically what I want and where to find it. It used to take me longer to wait in line at a register to pay and to put the items I needed in the cart. Along comes the Scan and Go app. With it, after you register your SAMs card and your debit card, you can scan the items that you want as you put them in the cart with your phone. The app will tally up your items total on the fly. When you are ready to leave SAMs, just click "Checkout," and you pay within the app. No need to make a line at the registers anymore. I just pay at whatever point of the store I happen to be, walk straight to the exit, then show my digital receipt to have it scanned (as is customary for these type of stores) and I'm on my way to the vehicle. I have done this 3 times now, and I turned what would normally be a 25 minute trip into a 7 minute trip. If more stores do something like this, shopping anywhere would be a more pleasant experience everywhere. I commend Sam's for being a trailblazer in the Scan and Pay department. Tip my hat to you.

You never know exactly what you'll find till you get there, but there is usually something you find that makes the stop worthwhile. You may have to sort through items to find what you want, especially if you are looking for a particular brand or size. The merchandise is better organized and is more well maintained at this particular store than at some of the others, certainly a quantum leap above the Ross or Burlington! Customer service has always been pleasant and efficient, though at peak times there is a line. However, the lines move much faster here than at their competition. TJ Maxx is one of our first stops when shopping. This one has a great location in the Shoppes at Rio Grande Valley at the corner of I-69C and Trenton. The shopping center has a myriad of shoppes, restaurants, a Starbucks, Academy, Ulta, JCP, and much more, so there is something for everyone.
