I didn't notice any difference in prices. They carry a lot of brand names like Steve Madden, Perry Ellis, and even brands like Betsy Johnson and Michael Kors at reduced prices. Clothing, purses, luggage, home decor, kitchen and yard accessories, a few specialty food items, and a small selection of women's shoes and jewelry. You never know what you will find, but it's often worth a look. New facilities, nice parking, next to The Main Event in the Pharr Town Center. My wife noticed it was warm "hot" in the store. We mentioned it to the cashier who informed us the temperature is set and controlled by the corporate office. Makes me wonder if they're in Denver shoveling snow while we have highs hovering between 90 and 100°.

I came to Macy's during a crowded Saturday with the intention of picking something up at the Chanel…read morecounter and making a quick exit to avoid the masses but was enticed to look at some clothes in the Ralph Lauren and Tommy section by the cute tops in the summer sales sections. I had also received some coupons in the mail and thought, "Why not?" I was able to find some good deals on Tommy jeans and some nice Ralph Lauren Polo shirts as well as some blouses for work. As I headed to the check out, I was already thinking, the coupons will probably not go through and I might have to make some of my purchases online. Macy's coupons are a hit or miss because they have so many exclusions and at some counters, a sales associate told me they make sure the coupons don't go trough because all their items are exclusions. As a result, I usually don't bother unless I happen to be there for another reason. I was pleasantly surprised this time when a sales associate named Yolanda Perez helped me figure out how to make the most of my coupons and it turned my good deals into some really great ones. I truly hope Macy's keeps hiring sales associates who are friendly and helpful like Yolanda. Having that help keeps me at the brick and mortar store instead of shopping online. I really want to support RGV business but if I can buy a $50 pair of shoes for $22 on Macy's online, how can I resist? Forget about online shopping, bring your coupons and enjoy the excellent service. As an added plus, there is ample parking, the store is nice and clean, and the Chanel counter kicks butt. Good job Macy's!

Cavender's has a nice selection of both men's and women's western wear. I checked out the shirts and found some great looking ones for reasonable prices which made me wish I really needed one! They have brands such as Cinch, Ariat and others. There's a good selection of cowboy hats, belts, buckles, and more. And of course, there are the boots! From traditional boots, dress boots, work boots, functional cowboy boots, city slicker boots, boot-scootin' clubbing boots, statement-making boots, various kinds of leathers and exotics like caiman, alligator, fish, ostrich, etc., they have them. They even have boots for toddlers and children. It's convenient to be able to shop here rather than drive all the way to the McAllen Convention Center location. Prices are competitive with similar stores. If you're a boot person in the Edinburg area, you owe it to yourself to check them out.
