I'll come back once in a while, but they just aren't what they used to be. These guys used to be amazing when I was little. Lately though, the service has become above average instead of stellar, and the ice cream is only good, instead of perfect. Why the 3 stars then instead of 4? Their prices! You will pay about 7 bucks for a 2 scoop waffle cone, and given that their ice cream isn't the amazingness it once was, you can get the same 2 scoop waffle cone that tastes the exact same from coldstone or B&R. Sure, they're a ways away, but if you enjoy driving anyway, you'll save money - even after what you spend on gas. The only thing they *really* have going for them anymore is their location and quaint building, but I almost wonder when someone will offer them enough to sellout. They certainly have been money hungry in recent years. 5 years ago I would have given these guys 5 stars, then their quality and service became 4 star, then they jacked up their prices. 4* atmosphere, 2* on value, 3* everything else. read more

Hit McDonald's or Coldstone for a better tasting experience wit If you do visit this spot, then make sure you stay away from their soft serve because it's not that good and also expensive. Don't deviate from items made with homemade ice cream. If you really like chocolate (and I mean really like it), then try the chocolate suicide. This is by far the best ice cream in the Stateline area. The ice cream is fresh and the flavors are all so unique. All the ice cream is made in house and the flavors are constantly changing. They have a young staff that is all energetic and willing to give you as many samples as it takes to make a decision. The shop is small, but most people sit out front or under the trees to the right. This place is really an adorable shop that fits right in with the Rockton main street. Also as everyone else has said, 1 scoop is HUGE!!! especially when you get it in a cone, they just keep piling on more until it is almost falling out of the cone. read more

The cutest little ice cream spot I've ever been to! So totally was just visiting my fam in Roscoe and being the foodie that I am, I was up to trying new places in the little town of Roscoe/Rockton. But Dairyhaus is definitely an adorable little place. Ice cream was ok, nothing too special, but not bad either. I've had plenty of different ice creams spots in LA, but I think Dairhaus was definitely the most adorable. It had that old school feeling. Hands down the best ice cream in the area. So much that it's spoiled ice cream for me. I can't do Dairy Queen anymore. They have several homemade flavors; of course, they'll let you try any of them for free. Quarts are in stock to go. Their sundae creations are to die for. I went here after a long bike ride and the ice cream I got here was very refreshing. They have amazing chocolate ice cream and root beer floats. They also partner with Prairie street brewery and sell their root beer. When I went, I got a chocolate cookie dough flurry. (They had unique flurry toppings like gummy bears too) It was delicious and it had plenty of cookie dough. The atmosphere was nice and hospitable and there were friendly staff too. Well here's my take. I've lived near Rockton for 3 years now, the first year the Dairyhaus' ice cream was superb, last year it was subpar, and this year they have returned to the best ice cream I have ever had. I'll account the bad year to inclimate weather affecting the cows' moods, thus producing poor quality milk. Recently picked up a couple quarts of Mint Brownie and Peter Rabbit (carrot cake flavored). I'm not a huge fan of carrot cake, but holy hell do I like carrot cake flavored ice cream. I'm also a huge fan of their Mocha Mud (coffee flavored ice cream with gooey fudge bits). The flavors rotate, so you never know whatwill be available. They also close annually from around mid September to Memorial Day, which kinda blows when you get a jonesin' for ice cream when there's a foot of snow on the ground. As most others have stated, it's kinda pricey, but worth it imo. Also, it's cheaper to buy quarts and take 'em home, rather than getting a cone fyi. If you'd rather have nonferromagnesian silicates in your ice cream, by all means, there is a McDonalds just down the road. If you want great real, albeit unhealthy, ice cream, this is the place. A true treasure. First their ice cream is top notch. It's all homemade in-house using fresh ingredients. You can tell the care that is given to making the ice cream. They have a huge list of flavors that change everyday. Want to try them just ask they are more than willing to give you a sample of anything in the case. It's true, we do have the best ice cream around, though I may be a little biased :) Be sure to stop by and try some of our newer flavors like Peter Rabbit (carrot cake, suggested by one of our customers), and Chai Tea (inspired by the popular coffeehouse beverage), as well as old favorites like Blue Moon and Praline Pecan. I personally have made many many waffle cones, and they're delicious...and their smell wafting through the air is sure to get your mouth watering before you even get your ice cream! In response to the claim that we charge over $7 for two scoops of ice cream: not true! While it is true that our prices have increased slightly since I first started working here (due to increased costs of milk and other products, and higher costs of transportation), two scoops of our one-of-a-kind homemade ice cream in a dish will run you $3.75, including tax. Two scoops on a handmade waffle cone is $4.56...definitely comparable to places like Coldstone! read more

Employees were very friendly and quick to fill our order. My family of 5 ate sundaes and cones and we were all very happy with our ice cream. The prices are a tad bit higher than most places but it was worth it because the indoor and outdoor areas were cute and clean. I wouldn't return to any place if it looked unkept and dirty.
