I arrived at 8:55 prior to their closing and the person in front of me in line had been served while I was there. I was left outside at the drive-through with no one communicating until I pulled up to the window to ask if I could order and it was closed and the girls inside just stared at me. we were driving through the town and stopped here to grab some fast food and most of the items on the menu they didn't have. About 30 minutes later they brought our food out and it was wrong. We were missing items. So we had to wait another 15 minutes for the rest of our food. read more

My dad and I stopped in for a late lunch on Saturday afternoon. I ordered a crispy chicken salad. Dad ordered the steak finger basket. But apparently, the lady behind the counter taking the orders and landing the planes decided that he should have the chicken fingers instead. He says they were good. My salad was OK. I've had better at the DQ in Uvalde. Anyway, this is pretty much all there is in Santa Anna, so if you don't like this place, then you'll probably go hungry. read more

Went inside and dined inside. Place was very clean. The workers were very nice and always used pleasantries such as, "thank you, no problem sir, and you're welcome". Food was made fresh and all food was correct. My burger was delicious and my other guest had the chicken basket. The gravy was superb and hot. The blizzard was perfect as well. I can't say how great and nice this visit was. We are from out of town on a journey to another state and this visit shows why Dairy Queen is the best rest spot restaurant. read more

We were hauling take to be able to stop and get ice cream. Because it's always good from DQ So we made it to Santa Anna with a little bit of time to spare. I know that DQ's serve food as well, but their bread-and-butter is their ice cream treats. If that is your reason for visiting any DQ, avoid this one. DQ ice cream is meant to be soft and smooth, not the hard, icy version you get here. Once upon a time, traditional DQ ice cream was available at this location, I stopped here frequently. Then, a couple years ago, something went wrong with their hot fudge. Not sure what it was, but the consistency and the taste were terrible. Since then, I've avoided stopping here, except for the few times I'd stop in to see if they fixed their issues. Not only have they not fixed them, they've added on. I may come back to see if problems are fixed, but after 2 years, I don't expect it to happen. read more

This is easily the grossest Dairy Queen I have been to in my life. Only stopped here to pee, so we obviously had to buy something. My mom went to the bathroom and I was going to buy a mini blizzard. But when I got to the register I saw about 10 flies just up at the register. So I just bought a bottled water for healths sake. Saw dead roaches in the bathroom. If I could give negative stars, I would. And then take my stars back because they don't deserve them. I just stopped by and I was mortified. I am driving from California and I understand this isn't the city, but there is no way in hell this is ok. I felt like I was on the set of a horror movie. Like the storm of Hidalgo, after the storm of locusts. This is what I walked into. I have worked in the food industry for years and understand food places sometimes develop pest issues, HOWEVER, this was beyond ridiculous. Upon exiting my car, there were grasshopper carcasses everywhere and I prayed not inside. When I entered, there was yet another graveyard scattered on te floor. I didn't notice until I walked into the bathroom and had a panic attack as I sat down. As I exited, I looked on the floor and realized there were carcasses in the dining area. Two gentleman had been sitting and talking with a giant carcas next to their boots. I just wanted to leave and as the manager was handing me my food, she stepped over yet another dead grasshopper in the kitchen area, to my horror. And that's when I realized hygiene is not important at this establishment. This is NEVER acceptable and they should be ashamed. I am in shock at how disgusting this place is. At least clear the dead bodies off the floor. I would have included pictures but was so freaked out I ran straight out of there and refused to go back in. read more

I give the Dairy Queen 1 star only because they knew very well how to take my money easier than how to fill an order. Repeatedly over the last year they have managed to somehow mess up each and every order given excuses ranging from I didn't take your order to shift change and I'm not the cook. One excuse after another and I don't believe I ever heard one I'm sorry come from every incident that I called back or went up there to let them know. Apparently there is no responsibility or accountability at this Dairy Queen. I don't judge every dairy queen but I do this one here in santa Anna and if as a judge, my rule was carried out..... I would shut this place down until someone could hire a complete and better staff to run this Establishment because the people running this one is slowly suffocating the life out of this Establishment here like the way they make their burgers that are, in my opinion, not the right burger I ordered ever, slapped together, on more than one occasion cold as if I had gotten an order of someone an hour before me didn't pick up. As I have seen on their other reviews that has placed them in 1 and a half stars I realize that I'm not the only dissatisfied customer that won't be returning, but it's also clearly apparent that the owner of the dairy queen chain by richeson, has no care or desire to uphold the name that was once a nice family Establishment. I had to make a profile just to warn the unsuspecting soul to NOT eat at Santa Anna, Texas Dairy Queen. Sadly, I have had the luxury of living in this small town and have limited options in dining. But after today, I AM DONE WITH DAIRY QUEEN! This place has yet to get an order right in the 3 years I've lived here. (And I average 2 trips a month.) THAT'S 3 YEARS OF HORRIBLE FOOD, TERRIBLE SERVICE AND I AM DISGUSTED WITH THEM! I call them and it's one excuse after another. "We just changed shifts" or "I didn't make your order" Whatever. For 3 years? Come on. They apparently don't know how to prepare the food that is on their own menu. I have had to inspect food just to make sure my cheeseburger had cheese and the bacon burger had bacon. It's a lot of work just to get what you paid for here. A LOT of work. There is a depressed, and utterly lazy atmosphere here, they don't care about their customers or their jobs....and it shows. Not one person is accountable for anything. Boo! They should hire me. This "fast food" restaurant is anything but. Abilene is the closest big city, and it is a straight shot through Santa Anna. When we are in a hurry we always seem to forget that we will only lose time by stopping at the DQ there. I've never been to a slower more lackluster DQ in my life. The waitresses are typically incompetent (but nice). They mess the orders up pretty frequently, and literally every single time it takes at least 20 minutes for a burger!!! What????? This DQ seems typical of most in the chain. The clerks make mistakes but for the most part they are curtious. The food seems prefried and reheated when it comes to steak and chicken fingers. Other food options are the double h family diner on the other side of town. Good food because it is made to order. Rockin R5 is the best place for dinner but their limited hours could have you guessing if they are open. read more

We were on our way back from California and my daughter was car sick so we stopped at this DQ for lunch...we ordered our food and I was at the drink counter getting our drinks when the cabinet door fell off and crushed my foot. It hurt so bad I was crying. My husband went to the front and told the lady "Hey your cabinet door just fell off and crushed my wifes foot. The lady (aka the manager) came over and said "Yeah its been doing that...we can't seem to keep it on." Then she just walked away no Im sorry or nothing!!!! How's that for good service!!! This all happened yesterday (Sunday) 2-24-13. Now my foot is black and blue and I can't put any weight on it with out it hurting...If I end up having to go to the doctor y'all will be getting my bill in the mail!!!! read more
