I got the Signature Original Crispy Chicken with Korean sweet and spicy sauce (on the side) and the Seaweed Chicken. The Signature Chicken reminded me of Korean-style fried chicken--the batter was super crispy, and the chicken was incredibly tender and juicy. I really loved it! The Seaweed Chicken was a bit different from the Signature one. It had less batter, a fluffy seaweed coating, and even more tender chicken. It was simple but really good as well. Overall, I am very satisfied with Zhengxin Chicken and Burger. I will definitely be back to try different menu items!

I usually hit at least four different food stalls every time I visit and always end the meal with something from Paradise Juice. Everything is very affordable. Cash only. The menu has tons of options and is highly customizable, which makes it hard to choose every time. They prepare the drinks right in front of you using real fruits. Everything I've ordered so far has tasted fresh, natural, and delicious. My only complaint is that their business hours are inconsistent. They opened late most of the times I was there, while the rest of the food court opened on time. On my most recent visit, they were almost two hours late and I almost missed them.

I personally rather pay for a more expensive cup of coffee than tip, as I usually only sit for 15-30min, and take my own cup/plates away before leaving. Small cafe, about 4 small seats and a few by the bar so it does fill up fast. There's a large parking lot for the plaza, but it's paid parking only. Prices are pretty standard for a small local coffee shop. Overall, I'd recommend this place in Burnaby, walkable for both Royal Oak or Metrotown Skytrain station. The response from DQ when I emailed them was that not all stores participate in the App, and they didn't even offer to give me the points as goodwill. So yeah, I hardly go to DQ after that. Fast forward to recently, I wanted something light and discovered DQ has a mix and match combo for $7. Not a bad deal, though it was $6 in the past. After my previous experience, I asked the staff if I can collect points on my app and the staff was very helpful. She was friendly and patient. The food was good, consistent with other DQ outlets. The service was fast. And yes, I did get my points, so I'll be getting my food here I when I'm in the area in future.

On this occasion my friend was craving DQ so we popped in for dessert. I didn't know what to have other than the fact that I love the Oreo flavour - so I went with the Oreo Blizzard. It was excellent & totally wrecked my 6 pack! Back to the gym I go. The two dudes working there were spot on & working hard. They were awesome. I noticed DQ now has chicken wings for sale as well as KFC - Korean Fried Chicken. So DQ has burgers, fries & chicken ... ok then. But I'll just stick to what I know about DQ - ice-cream. DQ ice-cream cakes used to be the thing back in the day for birthday parties. Not sure if it was just back then, but I always found them to be too sugary & too sweet & do I love suger or what, but just not like Rick James. Folks make sure you tip these guys working here - they deserve it! Open till 10pm every day, but if you arrive at 930pm - it's crazy busy with people wanting their night time fix.

But it's always been consistent, and my kids and I occasionally have stopped in here, and it's always been good. And a few years ago, I surprised my kid with a heart-shaped ice cream cake on Valentine's Day and she LOVED it, so I thought I'd do that again this year. (Yeah, I know, I could be "Mom of the Year"!). For the past few weeks I've been inundated with tv commercials for the Cupid Cakes available at DQ, which are the perfect size for 2 people, so I went online today to the DQ website and I ordered one. (V-Day is tomorrow). They only come in 2 flavors: cookie dough or red velvet. My kid loves cookie dough and isn't keen on red velvet, so it was easy to decide what to order. I plugged in the time I'd pick up the cake at the store and I paid in full ($35. Not cheap!) and I immediately got an e-mailed confirmation. I walked in the rain to the store and arrived at 5:30 pm. (My designated pick up time was 6pm, so I was prepared to wait a bit if it wasn't yet ready). The lady who was working there was super nice but immediately said to me she's so sorry, but they didn't have my cake. I said no problem, I'll wait, but she said no, they "ran out of the cookie dough cakes" earlier today. Um, what? I told her I had a confirmation, and I had paid for it in full. She apologized repeatedly, saying this sometimes happens, that they don't get sent the right amount of cakes. I was flabbergasted. Why on earth would a company - a HUGE international company with a gazillion franchises, - advertise specific products on tv, have customers pay for them, send those customers order confirmations, have those customers physically go to the stores, and then not guarantee that the products ordered and paid for would actually be there? Like, how does a company even stay in business with a practice like this? The woman was nice and tried to make things right. She asked me if I'd like a red velvet cake heart cake (not really. My kid isn't fond of this flavor). She asked if I would like a generic round cookie dough cake that was much larger (not really, as it isn't special without being heart shaped, and I don't care to have a cake that large, that feeds 6+ people. Plus I don't really have the storage room in my freezer for that size cake, anyhow). She wasn't sure if I could get my money refunded, too, saying she'd have to ask her manager. I was really taken aback by this whole experience. I ended up taking a heart shaped red velvet cake, knowing full well that it's not my kid's favorite, and it's not what I paid for. Seriously, what kind of business is this????? I'm giving this place one star and that's ONLY for the lady who was very apologetic and tried to make things right (when there was no real way to do so). I will never again go here, or probably to any DQ anywhere. This really left a bad taste in my mouth. SO unethical.

There's a time and place for all of these establishments. For the Blizzards, I like the Royal New York Cheesecake filled with Strawberry, when I'm craving something fun and light. My favorite is the Ultimate Royal Choco Brownie filled with Fudge. The first couple bites up top are underwhelming but once you hit the Fudge in the middle it rocks! Perhaps I may have to try other flavours with the added Fudge for $0.95. DQ will also email you specials on your birthday if you sign up for their email list.

But rather cool, tasty, and enjoyed-fun as a sort of "dessert break" after a hot meal on a summer's day! Chocolate covered, round-shaped, ice cream 'bars' on a stick. Except for the shape, savouring the flavours, for us, has tended to bring back all sorts of childhood (and not so childhood as well!!) memories of a love we had for ice cream bars a good while ago!
