I have five words for you. Apple. Pie. A. La. Mode!!!…read more During the week, I try to eat healthy... but that's only so I feel less guilty when I splurge on the weekends. And I think eating a sizable serving of apple pie a la mode ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery while strolling around the Discover Mills Mall definitely qualifies. My boyfriend and I were there on a rainy, muggy Sunday since the mall's only a hop skip and a jump from his home. We ended up getting a bunch of new polo shirts for him for some great prices (thank you Old Navy and Tommy Hilfiger), and while we were there we passed Cold Stone Creamery, to which he instantly asked me if I'd ever tried that flavor mash up. Reacting with mock horror when I said I had not, I found myself being pulled in to Cold Stone (I'll admit resistance to this move was minimal), and a medium serving (which turns out to be very generous) of apple a al mode was promptly ordered. I watched the girl behind the counter scoop a giant portion of vanilla ice cream then proceed to expertly smush in apple pie filling, graham cracker crumbs, cinnamon and caramel. And you know what? That thing really tasted like apple pie in ice cream form! Amazing! We had no trouble finishing off that bowl of deliciousness as we continued our stroll around the mall, and I have no doubt that his claims of being able to easily finish off a quart to go in no time at all are true. That stuff is highly addictive. I'm a huge fan of the self-serve froyo places, but Cold Stone is offering up some solid competition if all of its offerings are this good.

The only negative thing I have to say about it is that it isn't as close to me as I would like, but the drive here is more than worth it. The Froyo shop has an app you can download, that allows you to pick your favorite flavors/toppings and will let you know when those particular ones are in your closest store (as not all flavors/toppings are served everyday). The app also tracks your purchases and you receive "smiles" for $ spent. For every 50 "smiles" you get a reward! The interior is always clean and the associates here have all been very nice. On multiple occasions I've ran into the manager of this location, and he is just the sweetest. He always has a smile on his face and asks me how I am - talk about personalized service. The parking is shared with the other tenants in the shopping center, but it never seems to be too overcrowded. The Froyo is self-serve. You first arrive and grab an oversized cup to start your Froyo experience. From there you have a variety of options (sorbet, dairy free, etc.) that you can choose or mix and match from. Once you've grabbed your base, you'll make your way to the topping area where you can get anything from fruit, cereal, nuts, sauces, etc. Once you've completed your creation, you take it to the counter where they will weigh your final product and tell you what you owe based on its total weight.

They have a small selection of flavors that are constantly changing and of course you pay by the weight. Quick experience, there's not much seating inside and the parking lot outside is shared amongst a few restaurants.

Fujiissa (inside the Jusgo Supermarket food court) was such a pleasant surprise for a quick dessert…read morestop! As we walked up to check out the menu, the cashier--Jason--immediately offered us samples of their soft serve flavors. That alone was unexpected, but it got even better when he told us we could try up to three flavors. Great service right from the start. We sampled the premium matcha, milk, and black sesame, and honestly, we were shocked by how generous the sample portions were. They weren't tiny bites either--we were actually getting full just from tasting everything. Premium Matcha (3/5): This is definitely geared toward true matcha lovers. It had an authentic, earthy, slightly bitter profile with grassy, umami-rich notes and a clean finish. You can tell it's high quality and not overly sweetened, which is a plus--but it leaned a bit too bold and bitter for our personal taste. Milk (5/5): This one was our favorite. It had a light, delicate sweetness with a smooth, velvety, creamy texture. The flavor was rich but not heavy, almost like a fresh dairy softness with a subtle vanilla-like warmth. Super comforting and perfectly balanced. Black Sesame (4/5): A really unique flavor--deep, toasted, and nutty with a slightly savory edge. It had a roasted aroma, a hint of natural bitterness, and a lingering sesame richness that made it feel complex and satisfying. Definitely something different if you want to try a less common flavor. After finishing the samples, we ordered a milkshake ($6.27 with tax) and asked if we could mix the regular matcha with the milk soft serve. Jason had no problem with that at all, which we appreciated. We also made sure to tip because the service and generosity really stood out. The milk/matcha milkshake itself was amazing--ultra creamy, smooth, and well-blended with a silky texture. The sweetness was just right (not overpowering), and the matcha added a subtle depth without being too strong. It was refreshing, satisfying, and honestly the perfect after-dinner dessert. Light enough to enjoy comfortably, but still indulgent. Overall, great flavors, super friendly service, and a welcoming experience. The generous samples and flexibility with orders really set this place apart. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the Jusgo food court and craving something sweet!

The Second Level / Upper Floor is reserved for if you are going to be ordering/dining in for the pastas and/or savory foods. I only tried their coffee today on the first level. I did go upstairs to check it out and did see a bunch of people upstairs just sitting and chilling on their laptops with their coffees/drinks; so they may not really enforce their "reserved for pasta dining only" rule. Not sure. Ambiance (First Level / First Floor) - clean, nice, laid-back, chill, cool environment. Casual setting. Cool architecture, design, layout, and decor. Can get loud inside as ceilings are high and can get echo-y, especially if there are alot of people. Also, there is music constantly playing in background. Service (First Level / First Floor) - customer service was quick and straightforward. They were nice and polite. A+. No complaints here. Coffee (First Level / First Floor) - tried their "Korean Iced Coffee" for $7.25. It was one size only and one price at $7.25. It was delicious. Almost similar tasting to a Vietnamese coffee in my opinion (both are delicious). That strong, brewed coffee flavor with this delicious milky, sweetened condensed milk taste. I am not exactly sure if they used sweetened condensed milk in the Korean iced coffee, but it sure does taste similar to it. It's quite good. Also had a "Large Hazelnut Hot Coffee" with creamer for $5.95. It was okay. Total with tax for the two drinks was $13.99. Keep in mind that the WiFi is on your receipt as a QR Code at the bottom. So if you want to use the WiFi, ask for the receipt and/or keep the receipt so that you can scan the QR Code in order to use the WiFi. There was no password on the receipt, only a QR Code that you need to scan. Overall - Yes I would recommend this place for a nice little coffee stop. Check it out for yourself. Enjoy!
