Instead the freshly cooked, small batch of fries were covered in a layer of American cheese slices, then chili, then sprinkled with shredded cheddar. They tasted good, but the burger was definitely the star of the show. The staff were attentive but not super-friendly. No smiles and no chit-chat...these ladies were all business. It possibly started some of our infatuation with places like this with cool signs and history posted all over the walls. We had burgers for breakfast at Ferrell's before 10 a.m. Because why not? The tiny cafe has about seven stools, and both staff and patrons were nicely hospitable and enjoyable to visit with. Also, turns out my dad was at nearby Fort Campbell for basic training, and that sparked some nice conversation with him once I shared where we were that night.
