This is our second time here so we tried something different. We both got tacos: chicken and beef…read more The beef is more flavorful, the chicken kinda plain. The shells are what threw me. They aren't soft and they aren't hard. They're like a hard pita maybe? I was uncertain because of those. They fall apart pretty easy. Personally, I don't know if I'd order the tacos again because of the shell but my husband thought it added a lot so he would. Personal preference.

When we arrived, the attitudes were short wicked and it looks like everyone hated their job. I won't be back, that was very embarrassing for my wife and put her in tears, she just can't get away from all this cruel crap. She just lost her father and just can't get a break

We opted for dishes of vanilla with toppings and a lemon cyclone with golden Oreos. The building is not very flashy with only a small sign out front so be on the lookout and don't miss it! I discovered this place while grabbing coffee in Eureka, IL. Oh boy, was it a good discovery. I sampled a few ice creams and loved each one. Conveniently when I was there, they also had dollar hot dogs! So between amazing ice cream and cheap hot dogs, I was in heaven. If you love ice cream and haven't visited Uncle Bob's, do yourself a service and go try some! The do sell Uncle Bob's ice cream at some local eateries, so keep your eyes peeled if you can't make it to the Eureka location.

Review Visit: July 11th, 2016…read more Don't grandparents make the best food. While visiting Catfish Bend Casino, I figured I would see if there were any Ice Cream Shacks in the area. Luckily, I found one! So after the casino, I hit up Grandpa's to get some sweets. Parking here is pretty ample, so that's a huge plus. Inside is pretty spacious and they have a lot of flavors to choose from. Unlike a lot of Ice Cream Shacks, they only served ice cream and ice cream related things. No hot dogs, tenderloins, french fries here. I don't remember what I ordered from here, but I do remember it was pretty good. It scratched my itch but nothing beyond that. What really turned me off about this place was the worker behind the counter. His hygiene left a lot to be desired, which is reflected in my personal rating. I don't remember what he did, but it set off a red flag or two in my head as I watched him. But besides the one worker, it was a nice little place. I figured Burlington would offer a lot but this seemed to be the only ice cream shack that I could find on Yelp/Google.

HOMEMADE!! This is a locally owned icecream shop, so no they don't have a fancy sign, no they don't have fancy cups, but I didn't come here for, fancy. I came to Grandpas to try their homemade icecream whose recipes have been passed down from generation to generation. I had the medium cone with one scoop of Dark Chocolate and one scoop Salted Caramel, and it was Delicious!! The chocolate was rich and the caramel was so smooth and creamy. You can taste the love! They also have a big selection of flavors that very from day to day and may sellout if you don't get there quick enough. You can buy a pint to take home with you, or even a brownie or cookie that they use to make their sundaes. Duh they have sundaes!! And I have to come back and try them! So should you!
