I had scallops & shrimp Mac & Cheese and it was delicious with very fresh seafood. My daughter had the Pollo Maria and she said very fresh with crispy breading. Our other family member had the flounder, shrimp & grits and it was the probably the tastiest out of all 3 dishes.

Hey I really wanna go a "5" on this place (and outa 300+ reviews I don't have that many) BUT I…read morecan't because I've only been in once and that was at around 4ish...me and fellow Elite, Re H, were the only patrons.... Cassie was behind the bar and a true pro at working that whole liquor dispensing thing...Great attitude cause I'm not much of a beer drinker and so I had her run through the entire beer offerings and she did it with grace! Plus I mighta had a more prurient interest cause she had to bend over...Hey! I ain't proud but I am a guy!!! PS She also has a double barreled personality, if you know what I'm saying... Excellent locale right next to Milanos and just a class interior and decor...got a postage stamp stage and I was told they have live music...I have a feeling that if I ever visit this place after dark with a crowd I'll be updating to a 5...however this is a great place for day drinking and I say that because that's all I've ever done here but as stated above I'm sureI I'd love this place after dark!! If in Houma stop in tip an adult beverage and relax!!

My partner and I ended up at this place on a rainy Thursday night in Houma mostly because we were…read moretoo lazy to travel anywhere farther. Fortunately, we stumbled upon a pretty neat place with some live music to boot! The Jolly Inn has a kind, down-home Louisiana atmosphere. There are drunks, yes, but they're nice drunks. And you can never go wrong with a jukebox. The clincher for the 4-star rating, however, was that on Friday evenings the Jolly Inn has a "Cajun night" in the back hall that houses some great, lively Cajun music and food. It's fun for the whole family and cover is only $3. People young and old are there, and it's really a fun, wholesome atmosphere. Band starts playing around 6pm and ends just shy of 11pm. If you're lucky, Mr. Allie "Gator" will give you an 'honorary Cajun' certificate. He was married 39 years on the evening he played for us. Fun stuff.

Everything we've tried has been delicious -- the grits & grillades, sober fries, crab omelet, and bread board have all been fantastic. You really can't go wrong! I do have one little suggestion, though: the music! We were there this morning and the techno/rave-style music just didn't seem to fit the atmosphere or the amazing food. I would love to see the playlist lean more toward something that complements the restaurant -- Bobby "Blue" Bland, Bob Dylan, Sam Cooke, and that kind of laid-back, timeless music. Honestly, anything but the rave/techno vibe would be a huge improvement in my opinion! The food and service are too good not to give five stars, and we'll definitely be back. Just hoping for a little more soul in the soundtrack next time!

Unimpressed with the lunch special.. offering was hamburger steak ( noted as a menu item at 10oz)…read morethe one I received couldn't have been any larger than 6oz.. looked like a thicker child's burger, mashed potatoes ( scoop smaller than the burger patty) green peas, the large cheaper ones. The peas seemed to have poured straight from the can, no sign of any cooking, seasoning or love. The meal in its entirety lacked any home cooking attention or effort. Price was $12... while this could be considered a good price, all things need be considered. For me, a lunch special advertised out front of a restaurant, is the pinnacle draw to entice/ welcome people to come on in, have a seat and enjoy a meal prepared with love and care. It should be a small representation of the entire menu offering..( if you like this ...you should come back and try....... ! On your next visit) Service, was minimal, drink orders taken as the menus were placed, orders taken upon drink delivery. Food served timely. Then the wait began... we finished our meals and waited... for about 5 minutes there were no waitstaff to be seen in the dining area, and never did get an offer of drink refills. Finally ( another 10 minutes) attracted the attention of one of the waitstaff ( not ours) asked for and received our bill. Paid the bill then we were offered drinks to go.. I loved this place, under its former marquee, local home cooking at it heart... sad to see it go this way. I'm sure to give it another chance at some point, but sure to shy away from the " Lunch Special" and look to the menu offerings. Come on Folks.. keep the little place with so much ambiance alive... bring back the love to the pots n pans..
