The crowd is full of barely legal types and the barely alive regulars that circle the bar at all hours of the day. Rene's has a funky local vibe to it. The main problem is that you probably lose 5-years of your life each time you come here due to all of the smoke you inhale. You should wash your clothes and shower immediately upon leaving here; which could be a good pick-up line.

Cocktails are limited to options such Jack and Coke in a plastic cup. That being said, thats what makes this place what it is. It was only like 6:00 pm so not packed at all. The bartenders were so nice and welcoming. We stuck out like sore thumbs and they could tell it was our first time there lol. They immediately offered menus, suggestions, etc. I didn't have long so I opted for a small liquid marijuana daiquiri. IT WAS SO FREAKING GOOD!! It has the perfect amount of bite. So after the fight we just had to come back. That was when the party was starting lol. It was packed. Karaoke going! We had SO much fun and again, the bartenders were impeccable! They kept up with the ever growing crowd with ease! Look this is your typical, small, hometown bar. Lots of locals. But again, even though we clearly were not locals (didn't have my Nicholls red on lol), we were made to feel very welcomed. Both visits. We do plan on coming back next time we're out there and will definitely get out there early enough to try the food! Just want to reiterate one more time, the bartenders were amazing. The staff is friendly, quick and leaves you feeling well taken care of. You can always tell when I restaurant is well managed and this is one. I'll admit, sometimes it can get really loud when the music is blaring and everyone is talking but it's a sports bar so it's to be expected.
