It's only about a mile from I-26 / US 74. If coming from the highway, take exit 33 for NC 191 / Blue Ridge Parkway. On a Sunday morning around 11am, this gas station and convenience store were busy with a variety of customers including families with children and out-of-towners like us. We even ran into our Airbnb hosts. I guess this place is befitting of its name. I'd never heard of the Hot Spot chain before this visit. At the time of writing this review, there are about 40 locations in the Carolinas. They're mostly in South Carolina, with multiple locations in the greater Greenville, Spartanburg, and Asheville areas. In North Carolina, I spend most of my time in the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) and Triad (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point). There are no Hot Spots in those areas. I pass through Greenville and Spartanburg regularly on my trips to and from Georgia. However, I almost always fill up at a QuikTrip along I-85. It looks like there are only a couple Hot Spots along I-85 on that stretch. This Hot Spot has eight pumps. Apart from the branding, I can't say too much separates this place from other gas stations and convenience stores. It's run-of-the-mill, but also A-OK. I'd fill up here again. The price for premium fuel was in line with other more expensive gas stations like BP and Shell. The property felt clean and safe enough.

Today as I stopped by to gey an oil change and inspection, I put my registration card on the dash and took my keys to the employee, as I have always been instructed in the past. A young man that I handedd my keys to was extremely rude. As I was telling him what I was there for, he started talking over me to tell me i needed to go back and bring him my registration. OK, that's fine, I went back to the vehicle and got the registration. So I went inside and waited almost an hour. Then a different young man brought me my keys and the ticket and indicated that they were finished. A quick look at the receipt told me that they had not done the oil change. Obviously the first kid was so busy talking over me he didn't pay attention to why I was there. I told the second young man that the oil was supposed to have been changed too. He apologized and said he would take care of that. So after nearly another hour wait, he brings me the ticket. It was $123 for and inspection and oil change! My last oil change here was $45! Now I know gas and oil have gone up in price, but doubled? I could have had the oil changed at a 10 minute oil change shop with synthetic oil for $55!! As I said I know prices have gone up for petroleum products. But courtesy and respect towards customers is free. But today it was non-existent. And it cost your business a decades long customer. I won't be back.
