The performances are free, however, there is a "good will" jar if you really enjoyed the show and want to help them get buy new music. The performances are usually around an hour and it is always an hour well spent. We tend to take the tween grandkid with us; this time the eight year old also wanted to go; the grandkids had a good time and good a little culture in the process! Highly recommend attending any upcoming performance that fits into the schedule.

The last event I went to had poor coordination for the doors opening at the same time and when the security lady was asked about it she was a total b*tch. The new food booths are pretty good but overpriced just like every other arena (where else do you get the privilege of lying $6 for a large soda that you can get for $1.50 at any gas station?)

The Staging Ground looks like just the sort of creative home-away-from-home I'd have loved to have had when I lived there. Tucked away under a downtown business, it's got the relaxed bohemian feel of an artist's living room. It's an art collective, a hangout space, a mini gallery, a performance space, a place to store musical instruments and art supplies, and probably whatever else the members decide it is. I really liked the vibe and if I still lived in Rapid I'd definitely participate. You can stop in for the price of a three dollar day pass or you can buy a monthly membership. Either way go check it out. Just don't tell Ed how much I liked it.
