Right in the heart of Salina, Kansas is a cute ice cream shop that makes their ice cream fresh. They have a large assortment of flavors and they have seasonal flavors depending on what season of the year we are in and since we are approaching fall, the three seasonal flavors they have are pumpkin spice, cinnamon, and Spooklicious, which is a vanilla ice cream with Biscoff cookies. The girl told me her favorite was pumpkin spice, so I decided to give it a try and of course it did not disappoint. It taste just like a pumpkin pie. The service was great. They were attentive. They were quick to serve all the guest and answer all questions and give recommendations. The ambience is cute. It's simple with a little bit of retro vibe. The ice cream shop is very clean inside and they have outside seating. That was also very well kept up no garbage on the ground and the parking is a right directly in front of the ice cream shop. The ice cream is OUTSTANDING! After sampling flavors I choose lemon custard and the biscoff cookie. The portions sizes are plentiful, I ordered the small and it was more than enough. If you're in town this is a must visit, bring your friends so you can share your flavors! read more

We're from Wichita, the unofficial food option capitol of the world, but I can fairly say we have nothing quite like Salina's Dagney's. Our (many) ice cream options are fine but this tiny place and its perfectly flavored homemade selection just hits different. After a couple cozy sliders, we made our way further downtown to the cute little ice cream shop tiled in classic red, black and white. The narrow room had several tables spaced a comfortable distance apart (I hate sitting on top of people after the peace of social distancing.) The two servers behind the counter greeted us as we came in and waited patiently as we sorted through the big-but-not-too-big list of flavors printed on a large menu on the wall (very helpful!) We have no idea when we'll be back in town, so we both got the three flavor flights. When I couldn't decide between the banana and the brownie, they offered me two big ol' spoonfuls to sample and that sealed the deal on the brownie. I didn't get the dairy free options but I was tempted! I ended up getting the dark chocolate raspberry, lemon custard and brownie fudge. The dcr was so perfect: rich and definitely dark to offset the tart, crunchy raspberry bits (maybe freeze dried?) The lemon custard was tart but like real lemons, with a light butter finish and would be perfect in a waffle cone. The brownie fudge was truly a work of art. The brownie chunks were gooey and not just frozen chunks, the fudge was smooth and soft and even the vanilla ice cream (easily my least favorite part in most cases) was gorgeous and tasted both homemade and like actual vanilla and not just cold white sugar filler. My husband got hot chocolate (it has a spicy kick!), Eve's fall (cinnamon apple! Yum!) and Elderberry (I couldn't taste this one very well.) I've never had a deep desire to go to Salina but now I believe I've found one. I'm hooked for good! read more

Another delicious visit to this small ice cream parlor for the third year in a row for our family's annual trip to the mountains. After a savory dinner at Blue Skye Brewery, we headed here in search of something sweet to end the night on. My daughter got the raspberry ice cream in a waffle cone--simply amazing. Very friendly 2 young ladies waited on us . In a part of the old downtown, great little shop. Lots of flavors of ice cream rich,creamy, and not too much sugar. You can really taste the flavors. The ice cream is very creamy and flavorful. They also offer dairy free ice cream that has a coconut base. The owners are extremely friendly and offer free samples if you're having trouble deciding. That dark chocolate was soooooo good! Rich and creamy and on point with flavor. Scoops are a little large, that shows in the price. We would love to go back! They had these cool spoons that changed color when hot or cold. They make their own waffle cones. And do soda floats too. I think gluten free cones would be cool. As a person with a high sensitivity to dairy, finding (decent) dairy-free ice cream is TOUGH!! I was very pleased to see that they had options to choose from! I tried the non-dairy Oreo and it was pretty good!! They make their non-dairy ice creams with coconut milk. If you don't mind the taste of coconut, this is a good option because you can definitely taste a strong coconut flavor. As for those who don't care for coconut, keep that in mind! This is an example of finding a gem in a small town! Salina is a small town but they have an amazing ice cream shop. Let me break down the three major things why this Ice cream shop is worth the visit. First, the sugar cone is divine! Not only it taste very good, it is always made fresh! I love local business and I do my best to support it. Without local business, we fall into a cookie cutter society. This is a new, all homemade ice cream shop in downtown Salina. The flavors listed on the board were unique in name, some were tried and true oldies. I tried the Speculoos and it was delicious. A very creamy blend of cookie and cookie butter flavor. In town for my son's soccer games. After having a really good nearby at Heart of Dixie, ice cream seemed like a good way to satisfy the sweet tooth. They have numerous flavors.
