During the consultation, I described that I wanted a "Butterfly Haircut". My hair had grown long and the layers needed to be cut. I was very specific requesting that the longest back layer hit the middle of my back with a V shape and the Front layers frame the face with some long bangs. Well what I got was a haircut that sits above my shoulders and the choppy layers way shorter than I wanted which looks to full and bushy. My hair is already thick to begin with and just doesn't look right. Definitely NOT a Butterfly Cut! My hair is also curly. Bleach & curls don't normally mix. Every time I've gotten it professionally done, my blonde breaks off, my hair is dry & the hairdressers are quick to whip out a paddle brush after washing without conditioner/cream which leads to my wet hair breaking and stretching. When I showed pictures to each hairdresser (chocolate brown with light ends), I always end up with bleach blonde highlights against my black hair. It was always the worst. I told myself I wasn't going to pay $400 anymore to come out looking worst. I took the chance with Janelle. She sat with me and talked about what I liked about each picture I sent, she recommended specific products she used (her line of products have left my hair so soft), & when I told her that my blonde usually breaks off and that it's dry... she gave me a specific plan to get my hair where it needed to be & she told me she would used Olaplex on each step to maintain the integrity. Most of all... Janelle used a wide tooth COMB to de-tangle my hair and used a leave-in conditioner WITHOUT me saying ANYTHING!!! She was so gentle with my curls. It really let me know she cares and is conscious of curly hair & the patience it takes. Lastly, after I left... my hair was immediately healthier and more manageable. I didn't think that was possible. Janelle mentioned she will gradually go lighter to ensure no breakage & that if I wanted, I could go months without coming back based on how she colored it. I wasn't sure if extensions would do the trick, but May was so informative during my free consultation and recommended sewn-in beaded rows with 100% human hair genius wefts to help create a fuller look. She also recommended k tips for the front of my crown to add fullness to the thinner parts of my hair. Overall she did a fantastic job. She matched my hair so well when ordering the 100% human hair extensions that I didn't need any color adjustments, saving me time and money on future maintenance. I saw friends and family right after the install and they kept complimenting my hair. When I told them I got extensions they all said "I had no idea, they look so natural!" Throughout the whole process May was so respectful and thoughtful. She even sent me a form where I could let her know prior to the appointment how I would like the environment during the install.
