There's a big open area between the tables they have and the counter and the place feels really empty. The racing trophies they have are covered in dust and that kinda grossed me out. They also charge extra if you use a credit card which is a real pet peeve of mine. My sandwich was just under $11 for cash but was over $12 for using my credit card. It was a full 10% up charge. When I closed up last fall I believe there was a different business located here at that time and noticed the new name with relatively few reviews but all positive and decided to give it a try which was a good call on my part. The pancakes I ordered were well made, tasty and served with "HOT" maple syrup where I truly cant recall the last time I experienced that . The bacon I order was truly top shelf and comes from Plath's meat shop in petoskey. Thick cut, with a lot of meat versus fat, and most importantly very very tasty. The building itself has a smallish foot print where they are able to comfortably accommodate more tables than what you would think from viewing on the outside. Having said that the place was hopping while I was there on a Tuesday morning which I was surprised with and makes me wonder how busy they will be once summer arrives and the positive word about this restaurant spreads. Just something to keep in mind during peak season as you can avoid it by arriving early which is what I always do with the more popular restaurants. Last, I had excellent friendly service with great follow up through out. No worries here about having your coffee topped off as I never saw the bottom of my cup while here. Nice! Overall I was very pleased with my initial dining experience and will definately be returning again where this is now on my short list of breakfast Places I rotate through when up here. While here, definitely make sure to try the Plath meats they serve as these are superior to most of the breakfast restaurants I frequent.
