This is a cute little diner serving hotdogs, bratwurst, ice cream and a few other items. There was one employee working and she did a great job taking and making orders. It was uncomfortably hot inside, so we enjoyed sitting outside on a beautiful summer day. The hotdogs were similar to those found on a hot dog roller grill that have been sitting around for a little while. The toppings were applied generously. I did not care for the bratwurst. It tasted like it had been roasting for a while, and it had peppers and I don't know what else in it and did not taste like any other bratwurst I have ever had, and not in a good way. I'd never order it again. We're glad we stopped by, and if I lived nearby I'd likely frequent the diner for ice cream on hot summer days. read more

Have gone here pretty much all my life and as the slow changes over the years have made this place less desirable to eat at. The menu being massively reduced to almost nothing and the prices extreme. Today I came in for my normal blt with extra tomato and Mayo. Was not speaking fast or anything and I was clear as day when I spoke. But the Russian staff can barely understand English. So I gave up trying to explain it to them and went "just give me a blt" because I had to repeat myself 2 times. When the older lady is here working it's easier to order. Will not be returning. Please fix this communication issue with the staff or give them a translator. Would make things run more smoothly. read more

Enjoyed a delicious ice cream snack here over the summer times. There was only one person working, which definitely led to a little bit of a wait at times. You could order either inside or outdoors and they had a selection of various fried foods, koney dogs as well as ice cream. The ice cream was delish and a cone was reasonable! Not only was the employee rude about me ordering for a big family but I ordered a strawberry sunday and it was the worst thing i've tasted. The ice cream had hard chunks when it was just supposed to be vanilla and the strawberry sauce or whatever was DISGUSTING! read more

We ate breakfast here and really like the atmosphere. Ate on the front patio. I had the veggie omelette and my husband had the breakfast burrito. We both liked our food. I was pleased with my omelette. It had generous amounts of mushrooms, onion, tomatoes, and green peppers. My toast was nicely toasted and good as well. Nice server. View of the bay to one side and the four corners and woods to the other. If we were not leaving today we would come back here. It has a small nostalgic diner feel to me, like places I remember as a child. read more

This was my favorite place to eat while on the island. The staff was super friendly and the food was amazing. Had an island burger, loaded fries, and their pizza after a few visits. Each item was great and all the ingredients were fresh. I'd say best pizza and burgers in town. They had nice outside seating too so it was a great place to hang out. The owner or cook came out and had people taste test a new recipe, which I thought was really cool. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat here! They have the best pizza. If you like cheesy pizza this is the place for you! They also have a great breakfast and their burgers are super delicious! Everything has a homemade feel to it. If you want dessert, try their ice cream, I recommend their "Pirate's Treasure" best ice cream ever! Wish California had this flavor. The only negatives that some people might have is that it will take a while to get your food. It is well worth the wait. Also it gets really crowded at times go during off times. Service is super friendly. And place is clean and welcoming! read more

Cute little place to visit when you want lunch. The loaded fries were delicious and the sandwiches where very large and good. The wait is a little longer then I was used to with other restaurants but not crazy. It is expensive $64 for three of us, but you are paying island prices, which I totally understand. Daddy Franks is a Beaver Island staple that offers good ice cream and decent food. Like anything on Beaver Island though don't expect everything to move at the speed of the mainland. The breakfasts here are really pretty good and inexpensive. For a quick bite on the Island this is the place to go. Also on some Sundays there is Chinese food to be had but the schedule is kind of unpredictable but that is one of the great things about the island there is no set schedule. read more

Customer is always WRONG here. Tried to order pizza but they said they wouldn't make them until 2pm (it was noon), stating they didn't have the staff to make them until the afternoon...I proceeded to watch most of the staff wait around doing nothing. upon paying the eldest lady was rude to my wife, I later told the chief that I would appreciate if the cashier wasn't rude, she over heard and replied by saying I am overly cocky today and don't know what I am talking about.... read more

Friendly place on the island. We went every day for ice cream. My crew loved the olive burger, Irish fries, and pizza tots. Honestly there wasn't a bad item we tried off the menu. My niece had an ice cream accident where all off it fell off her cone and the ladies were quick to get her a new cone (and they didn't charge us for the replacement). It wasn't a hard decision to return everyday and give these folks our business. We only wish we could have a Daddy Franks closer to home! read more

Food was very good and decently priced. we stopped at 7pm and ordered couple of milk shakes and Burger's and we realized CARDS ARE NOT ACCEPTED here, to our surprise staff said we can pay in the morning after ATM got opened which is unimaginable these days. read more

No frills, but tasty, honest, homemade food. Best Turkey Reuben I've ever had, and the fries are crispy perfection. Don't know what they put in their ice cream -- maybe it's just "island magic" -- but it's also the best, and eating a cone while watching the sky change color over St. James Harbor at sunset is the quintessential island experience. read more
