My best friend got married last weekend, and the CUSTOMER SERVICE, FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS, and CENTER PIECES provided by DA VINCI's were absolutely AMAZING! Martha and her assistants completely TRANSFORMED the reception area into a masterpiece! The bride, groom, guests, and vendors were all blown away! The shock for me still hasn't worn off! Before the stunning transformation, the bride, groom, myself, and one of the coordinator's met with the owner Mr. Sharone, and came up with this stunning design! He was very accommodating and ensured that the bride got the bright red roses that she so much desired. He even allowed her to order some artificial flowers in the specific color that she wanted, and his team incorporated them into the floral arrangements. When I told him that the bride was skeptical about the Sweetheart stage, he directed me to a few pages on their website. Then took the time out of his busy schedule to go over the different stage coverings with me, so that I could put the bride's mind more at ease. There were a few other occasions where he tried to accommodate the bride. Another was when he offered to spray paint a particular item she really wanted and/or locate it at a different location and order it! Mr. Sharone would always try to exhaust all options. Keep in mind, everything that she was required to do had already been set up. So she could have left a long time ago, but because of her dedication, pride in what she does, and desire to ensure that the entire room came together perfectly, she stayed until she was satisfied with the final look! Sharone and his assistant made my fiancé cry. They were unprofessional and dismissive. We made our appointment well in advance and confirmed a few days ahead of time. My bride-to-be's parents came to town to help with wedding planning. The day before, during dinner, Sharone's assistant called to cancel the appointment. We politely said that this was our wedding planning weekend and that if they could not take us, we'd go with another florist to which Sharone's assistant reversed course and said that they could see us. We headed up to Silver Spring to make sure we'd be there early and minutes before the appointment, Sharone's assistant called to cancel. This seems like a big organization - no one else was available? From a professional standpoint, I understand that emergencies happen, but Da Vinci's treated us so rudely: making my bride-to-be cry is a cardinal sin. There are many florists in this town that want our business and can treat us appropriately. Planning a wedding is stressful enough - vendors should be reducing stress, not adding to it. read more

We ended up working with this fabulous vendor through our wedding planner, Shelby Tuck-Horton of Exquisite Expressions and Events, Inc. All I can say is that this is a top notch florist and design company. In addition to the flowers, they also provided the uplighting for our wedding reception. They have everything on site. And I do mean everything. All of their flowers come delivered fresh daily and they keep them in a huge refrigerated room, which is emptied out almost daily. They have a large floral design crew and specialize in unique floral decor. In the front is the showroom, and the back is something of a floral design factory full of florists putting together spectacular arrangements. The end result was a clean, classy, yet simple and elegant, floral design for both the wedding at the church and the reception. I would absolutely use them again for any event. read more

This review is of my consultation - I did not use them. I went for a consult in May 2010 and was decidedly underwhelmed by the experience. I don't feel like I was being listened to. When I was trying to explain what I wanted (nontraditional, herbal/ natural/woodsy elements, etc), he kept referring me to their portfolios. When I pointed out that I'd spent the last 15 minutes looking at them and there was nothing in the portfolio that looked like what I wanted he seemed to be at a loss. They aren't "floral designers" as much as a maybe a factory type florist that apparently can only make what they've made before. They do have a great space in Silver Spring and if you are looking for lighting and furniture rentals prices seem to be about average for the region. However, for the amount of money they want, I'd recommend you shop around. read more

Mickey and her team did a phenomenal job with my "southern glam" garden style wedding. I wasn't going to post a review but after seeing people say that they are unable to do new things, I had to offer a different experience. DaVinci's seems to be used to doing evening events with uplighting and creative floral displays but after seeing their level of work, I wanted to see where Mickey could take my vision for a southern glam morning wedding. Her work exceeded my expectations. They are not the most responsive vendor that I had but in terms of creativity and making sure the event is to the next level, DaVinci's Florist definitely did that. When I entered my reception I literally gasped to see all of the flowers and candles and all of the details that Mickey made sure she attended to. (I uploaded my sweetheart table to give you an idea). She brought extra things to make sure the room looked the way I imagined and they were very transparent about costs and kind when I said that something was out of my budget. I believe that with something like decor, you have to be aware that you get what you pay for and you also have to know what you want. You can't expect to uplight a room and to have it look like a Pinterest wedding but you need to instead consider all of the ways that you can make the room your own and make it as beautiful as you can afford. I used Da Vinci Florist as a vendor in my September, 2009 wedding. I absolutely LOVED my bouquet. It was vibrant and beautiful and the flowers even looked amazing the following day! They did a wonderful job with our centerpieces (we had submerged flowers), and we received many compliments on them. The bridesmaid bouquets and the bouts and corsages were great as well. They made 2 separate deliveries at no extra charge - one to the hotel and one to the site - and they were on time, if not a little early! I visited 3 florists and Da Vinci's was most willing to work within my budget. I worked with Sharone, who was very flexible. I did make a few changes along the way, and he was great with that. I did have to call/email multiple times to get a response on a few occasions, hence I've subtracted a star for responsiveness. I would definitely recommend them. read more

I had a great experience with Davinci. I am using them for my wedding, but ended up planning a shower in the process. If they do half as good as I did with the shower, my wedding is going to be stunning. They were earlier than stated both for delivery and pick up. They placed tables exactly how I wanted and required minimal direction. Not to mention, the tables and chairs were beautiful and really added to my vision. I was very nervous when choosing a florist for my wedding. I visited about 4 different places and it just didn't feel "right" until I met Mickey at DaVinci. We immediately clicked and I felt so comfortable with her. She put up with my several emails, calls and requesting of an extra meeting here or there. Mickey truly made my vision come to light. Everything from my bouquet to the escort table to the chupa. It was absolutely STUNNING! The flowers, the design, the sweetheart table, the hallway.. I mean, WOW. I am so lucky I followed my heart and went with DaVinci but more so, went with Mickey. It was obvious that Mickey looked at the pictures I brought her and read me as a person and made it all come to life! Everyone said how absolutely beautiful our wedding was and I know her special touch made it happen. As soon as I saw my bouquet I knew that the wedding was about to be everything I wanted and more. I immediately turned to my mom and told her how excited I was to see the rest because I knew from just the bouquet that Mickey got me! The ceremony and reception rooms were breathtaking and I couldn't stop smiling everytime I looked out into each room. Mickey also helped me design a gorgeous covering white/gold monogram covering for the dance floor which really made the room elegant. At the end of the night I didn't want to leave. Deciding to use Diana and DaVinci as my florist was the single best vendor decision I made for the wedding. Diana and what she created were incredible. The whole process of working with Diana was easy and she instantly understood what I wanted. I would send her pictures or describe ideas I had and she made them come to life. She was so flexible and was able to create my dream decor while completely working within our budget. Diana and DaVinci created the most beautiful wall of lights that served as the backdrop to my ceremony and the backdrop to our head table for the reception. The table arrangements were also stunning and Diana worked with us to create the look we wanted at a price we were comfortable with. Also, she brought extra table adornments the day of, so if a particular table didn't look like what we had wanted, she added decor until she was happy and able to achieve the look. Everyone wanted to take home the flowers they were so beautiful. It was light, romantic, and classic. I have received more compliments on the backdrop and the floral arrangements than anything else. I have already sent their information to three different brides begging to have them do their decor as well. I cannot recommend Diana enough. She was so fabulous to work with. She was extremely professional and always sent quick responses. When my original wedding coordinator quit 5 weeks before the wedding, Diana knew how nervous I was that the day of the wedding things would be a disaster, so since we had such a good working relationship she stepped up and assured me that that she would oversee all things decor to make sure what I wanted was accomplished. She worked with the venue staff and the lighting people and ensured they created my vision. It was such a relief to not have to be in the venue all day making sure all the separate vendors achieved my goal because I was so confident that Diana would handle it. This place is very unprofessional. I called to inquire about furniture rental for an event. After the woman gave me a quote, once she realized that my rental was a small one, she then said the item was no longer available. I then inquired about other pieces and she promptly informed me that they didn't have any pieces available for the month of my event. The only hiccup was that they were a little late in setting up part of the venue. When we arrived it took them about 15 minutes for them to finish up. Wish they would have been out of the area completely before guests began to arrive however, the flowers were so exceptional that it was a minor problem. Sharone cancelled on my fiancé and me an hour before our appointment. This was after I had confirmed the appointment and gotten an email confirming our appointment which I made over a month in advance. Well actually, Sharone is so rude he didn't even bother to get on the phone and cancel himself. He sent his assistant Maria who could barely explain why they were canceling the appointment at literally the LAST MINUTE. She actually hung up on me when I kept asking her questions!. They were unbelievably rude and unapologetic. Terrible customer service and clearly poor business owners. Went there for some valentine's day flowers. I just found the place via Yelp. The place is a little bit off the beat and path and I wasn't sure I was in the right place. The door said appointments only, so I wasn't sure but once I walked in they sure helped me out. I take it that walk-ins aren't there usual type of customer, looks like they specialize in large events. However, I asked for some roses and orchids and they put together an arrangement that is sure to please just about anyone. I'm no flower expert but everything looked fresh and they even took me in the back to take a look at their stock so I could pick what I wanted. My husband and I selected Da Vinci's for lighting after visiting our venue (Carnegie Institute of Science, Washington D.C.) while it was being setup for another wedding. Da Vinci's staff placed lights in the Rotunda (dance floor), ballroom (dinner tables), and boardroom (bar area) of the venue and we found that the lights really helped transform the rooms (lighting really is an essential wedding décor). Diana at Da Vinci's was very easy to work with via e-mail and responsive to my questions and request. The colors we selected were just as I had pictured and we experienced no issues with setup or take down. Would DEFINITELY say SHOP AROUND! I went there for a consult for my wedding in Sept. 2011 and it was the WORST experience ever! I have never wanted an appt to end more quickly! If you are looking for boring, no creativeness and the same old same old..you have found the place. They are DEFINITELY NOT CREATIVE, what you see (in their albums) is what you get. They can't/refuse to think outside the box! I emailed Sivan (the owner's sister whom I had my consult with) and told her I was going with another company and she asked why. This is the response I sent her! For starters, I just liked the other company better. I loved their vibe and energy! They were warm and welcoming and they made the appointment fun, educational and entertaining! I like how they brought fresh, new ideas to the table and didn't just show me a book and say pick out what you like. As a matter of fact, I didn't even look at books or old photos. They actually sat me down and talked with me about how I envisioned my wedding and what were my likes and dislikes and made sure to stay away from what I didn't want. I told them I wanted different and not traditional and they went above and beyond to make sure what they suggested and brought to the table was exactly that! With you I felt like the appointment was cold and boring. Immediately upon arrival, you shoved books in my face and said why don't you go through and pick out what you like (not cool). Not once did you ask me how I envisioned my wedding to be, what flowers I liked and which I didn't. I told you that I was not a fan of roses and yet every time we turned around you kept trying to put them in there! I didn't feel like you listened to me at all. You kept cutting me off and that too me is a HUGE turn off! I was actually quite frustrated by the end of the appointment and could not wait for it to end! Another thing, the other company also seems way more flexible with how they do things. I gave them a budget and asked them to show me what I could get with that budget and they came back well under my budget. With you however, i did the same thing and it was as if you would not budge or be creative and basically told me this is what you can do and nothing more. So, needless to say, the other company in the end was just an all around better fit for me. read more

Davinci Florist is one of the most creative floral artists I have worked with. We used them for my daughters November 2018 wedding at The Grand in Baltimore, Md. They were able to bring our floral vision to life and all within our extended budget. The end result was a breathtaking palette and design for the reception area, exactly what we wanted. The only hiccup was the wrong size aisle runner was delivered for the ceremony room. However, the floral decor exceeded our expectations. My 'consultant' was Mickey. It was a horrible experience. She NEVER called me as promised only AFTER I called. My appointment was rushed which was crazy because she was late. Over priced for less than stellar products. I imagine that we were not important enough since we only wanted a modicum amount of services- nevertheless, we went with Martins Caterers and was very happy! Then they tried to keep my deposit after I was told - along with my fiancé and daughter that I had up to 10days to recover my deposit. I called 23 days early. I would NOT recommend this place based on the non-customer service that I received. read more

OMG when we went to the showroom for our appointment, we were in awe of the amazing centerpieces, china, cutlery, and linens that the room was adorned with---and signed the contract that same day...however, all of that look requires 3 to 4 hours preparation time. Our ceremony started at 3pm and while, but there was miscommunication as the onsite floral designer had a ceremony start time of 4pm. Not sure how or where the communication breakdown came as all of our paper work and the contract clearly stated 3pm. Thus their setup caused our ceremony to be 45 minutes late, our cocktail hour was cut by 20 minutes and our reception was rushed in order for us to meet our end time. The venue staff did their best to assuage the Bride and Groom, and the MOB, however, I as the coordinator did not appreciate our guest sitting for 45 minutes while the florist completed their task. Additionally, the florist forgot the aisle runner, the toss bouquet, and they left all of their supplies - i.e. piping ties, scissors, tape, ribbon, etc...strewn about and a guest had to advise us of this issue so that it could be cleaned up. For the amount of money that we spent, we all expected more professionalism regarding time management. I've had several guest ask about the florist, but I refuse to recommend as TIME MANAGEMENT is not their best skill. read more

Went in for a consult and they had nothing to show. Told the guy the way I wanted my centerpieces and bouquets and I walked out feeling confident because of the reviews I read about this company. A week later I got my contract, signed it and I knew I didn't have to worry about them the day of my wedding. Then the day of I finally received my bouquets and when I saw them I was very disappointed. It was nothing what we discussed. Looked like I went into my neighbors yard and grabbed 3 flowers for each of my bridesmaids. I asked for a flower ball for my flower girl and the second I took it out of the box all the roses fell out, I had to spend an extra 30 minutes to put the flowers back into the ball. Overall I was very disappointed. Wished I went with another vendor. What I discussed and signed on the contract is not what I was given, from the bouquets to the centerpieces. read more
