The food started coming with great antipasto. Service was efficient and friendly. The mains were excellent - I assess an Italian Restaurant by its gnocchi and the gnocchi here was superb. They serve modern Italian cuisine and focus on offering the very best in natural wines from all around the world. The staff are extremely welcoming and offer fantastic service. I was feeling hungry, so to begin with I ordered the Carciofi alla judia: The Fried artichoke with lemon mascapone & Mint ($20). Beautifully presented when it came out, I almost didn't want to eat it & ruin the work of art. Everything worked well together. Now if you've never tried this before, you leave the outer edges of the leaves and only eat towards the middle where its softer and has more flavor; Beautiful. For my main, I couldn't go past the Carnaroli risotto ai funghi: which is a carnaroli rice risotto, mushrooms & truffle Pecorino ($26). All I can say is that I compare this risotto to all risottos everywhere I go because it is the BEST! The truffled Pecorino is simply beautiful. OMG! Although I was pretty full, I thought 'Why the hell not!' and ordered a light dessert of Sorbetti misti alla frutta e erba luisa ($15) and a Long macchiato which was just the way I like it; strong flavored. There were 3 Flavors of Mango, raspberry and lemon with fresh fruit. So delicious and a perfect way to end my lunch. I have been here many times, and plan to always return. They can whip up a nice pasta dish, and offer plenty of customization options. I was quite happy with their mushrooms, and you can see them cooking stuff up fresh. Of course, that also makes for slow service on a crowded night, and the prices are a bit high for what it is. My other notable downside is that the menu just doesn't offer the range I might have hoped for; it's almost all pasta and pizza and very little of it is vegetarian. Not that this isn't a feature of New Orleans, but I would really have liked some red beans or some okra in there somewhere. It isn't a terrible restaurant, but I suspect it is no substitute for the real thing.

We both had the Eggs Benny with ham and added some avocado, because breakfast isn't complete without avo! The coffee was smooth and the eggs runny, what more could you ask for... The deal came up again so we grabbed another Scoopon and this time we had the Eggs Benny with smoked salmon and the Delizioso Breakfast. Once again everything was delicious. The Delizioso Breakfast includes eggs, tomato, bacon, baked beans, hash brown and a super tasty pork sausage. It's a lot but not overdone like some big breakfasts which leave you feeling far too full afterwards.
