We arrived at La Vecchia Banca around 9:30 PM. Their website stated they were open until 11:00 PM. When we arrived, the bartender called a waiter a young woman who seemed willing to help us. However, an older waiter suddenly grabbed her and took her to the back. Shortly after, someone who appeared to be the cook came out and told us the restaurant was closed. This was very confusing and uncomfortable, especially since the restaurant was supposedly still open. The way we were treated made us feel unwelcome, and honestly, it felt like we were turned away because we were not white. As tourists, this was a very disappointing and upsetting experience. Travelocity recommended this restaurant, but based on how we were treated, I would strongly advise tourists--especially non-white travelers--to avoid this place.
